What do you want to be when you grow up?

When we were children, in school, we always (more than once I'm sure) had to stand up and state to everyone what we wanted to be when we grew up. The cliché answers would be a "doctor" or a "lawyer". When I was in kindergarten, I said I wanted to be a neurologist. I only said that because I heard it on TV and I wanted to sound unique (I had no idea what that was, I was only 5).

As we reach adulthood, growing up becomes more real and necessary. At 24, I have many aspirations and am racking my brain as how to put them into action. I know many men who are in their 30's, 40's and 50's, and have never actually "grown up". They have a job they hate and don't have a meaningful relationship. I for one don't want that.

What do you aspire to be? What do you want to be when you grow up? Sounds silly, but one should never stop dreaming. I feel the dream can be a reality once you face them and any fears that come with them.

What do I want to be when I grow up?

    1) To graduate with a MA in Spanish
    2) Professional model
    3) Artist (drawing and painting: gallery exhibits)
    4) Dance Club Owner
    5) Have my own designer line
    4) Musician (singer and songwriter)
    5) Writer (Poetry, Non-Fiction)
    6) Husband (to a man of course) and father

I don't know if I wrote in my plans (prior to birth) to accomplish all of these things before I died, but I sure will try to check them all off of my list.

    Swimming Pool Utilization Specialist.

I think I'd be very good at that. When the weather is warm and sunny, I love sitting by the pool.

Ohhh god; I am so very far from any of the things I once thought my life might lead me to.

When I was a little kid I wanted to be a cop like my grandfather and uncles.

Now... my life is so full I really can't think of anything.

I decided that when I turn 50 or 55 though I am going to switch careers. I want to go into teaching - probably computers, maybe history - probably at the communitty college level.

I have often thought of owning a small Inn someplace in the wilderness - a hunting and fishing destination kind of thing.

Anything I do will depend a lot on my partner though; who just retired from the Army, is in college, and is about to start a new career.

God, life is funny and interesting isn't it?

Too much notice as a rock star. I could only really be one or the other.

The fact that i'm dyslexic and have horrid vision, and now a jacked up knee... OH YEAH and i'm covered in tattoos make me more suited for rock star.

I also always wanted to be a stripper when i was young. OBVIOUSLY i am living that nightmare... i mean... living that dream.

Only if i can train u in the arts of assassination.

Us half breed chinese and irish folks are sneaky like that LOL

It would probably be easier to be a stripper and an assassin at the same time. I could certainly get closer to people and slip things in their drinks... it would just look like an OD

OOOOYYYY i think about this kinda stuff too much LOL

no no no no no, Rocco. Think Austin Powers and Fembots. Dance close to your victim and as he reaches to stuff a 20 into your waistband, BAM, a bullet through the head courtesy of your 45mm Penis Gun (tm).

Wow. I really haven't thought about this without thinking about money.

    Stripper (One time only feature)

Entertainer (Also, a one time only feature)

    Artist
    Writer
    Musician
    Photographer
    Singer
    Actor
(I have always been interest in the Fine Arts and played the Saxophone for 7 years. But here in Montgomery, there are no GOOD schools with a proper band)

Teacher (I could really see myself doing this, in fact I helped my little brothers and now I help my classmates all the time with school work, and I think I would do well)

Nurse (This is my actual goal and I have been working for it for the past 4 years. Hopefully with all my hard work it will become true in the Spring if I am accepted to upper division. I actually want to be this and not for the money the world needs male nurses and I believe by doing this I would be doing the world good.)

Well remember that Chuck Berris claims that he was a TV show host and assassin/spy at the same time. (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.) I kind of assumed that he did too many drugs at some point and no longer knows what he is.

I think that I wanted to be some kind of cross between Lloyd Bridges' character on "Sea Hunt" and Captain Kirk. Um... I guess it's sort of worked out to something like that, completely by accident. But without the phasers and the beautiful aliens. And in most episodes, nobody sneaks up and cuts my air hose, except metaphorically.

Rent the movie. It's just goofy enough to almost be fun. And Chuck swears that it's all true.
