Erectile dysfunction ads too hot for TV?

"You’ve all seen them. Those ubiquitous TV ads where a simple little pill transforms a man suffering from erectile dysfunction, or ED, into a virile tiger who puts a smile on the face of his now beaming wife.

Well, Representative Jim Moran (D-VA) has seen them too, and you’d be hard pressed to see a smile on his face when he talks about the ads.
“A number of people,” he says, “have come up, including colleagues, and said I’m fed up. I don’t want my three or four-year old grandkid asking me what erectile dysfunction is all about. And I don’t blame them.”

Enter H.R. 2175. That’s a bill that Rep. Moran introduced last month that would prohibit any ED ads from airing on broadcast radio and TV between 6AM and 10PM. The bill advises the Federal Communications Commission to treat these ads as “indecent” and instruct stations to restrict their broadcast to late night and overnight hours."

Oh so just beacuse he can't talk to his grand kids in a reasonble and responsible way he wishes the FCC ban these commericals?

What next.. banning commericals advocating mammograms and prostate examinations? Censorship is not cool. My advice: Learn how to talk to your kids... what to say now at age 4 and what to say when they are older.

Bob Dole. His missus enjoys his bananas a whole lot more since he started using Viagra.

Ha ha, PS, you so beat me to the draw on that one!

I wonder if Moran also wants to take out Bob:

Bob doesn't have ED. He's about "natural male enhancement". Hmm.

I wonder how many violent video games, movies, and television shows these parents let their children watch.

God...If they get to stop the ED commercials can we also stop the birth control pills and the maxi-pad/tampon commercials and the cross your heart bra commercials too? Better yet lets stop all commercials and just force the cable companies to add a few more stations that only run commercials all day and night, 24/7! or lets just nationalize all of the broadcasts and do away with the need to advertise.......no more drug commercials, no more food commercials, no more clothing and car commercials...hmmm, wait the economy is already doing some of that for us.....nevermind congressman, leave the shit alone and work n some of our REAL problems.......icon_eek.gif

That's easy. I'd say "dear, when you grow up, your cunt is going to be all stinky. This helps it feel and smell clean."

JP, you should do ad copy.
It would be a refreshing departure from all those euphemisms and vague references..."summer fresh"!

Actually, there are plenty of forums promoting the illogical ideals of mainstream Republicans. In this case, it has nothing to do with party, though I'm surprised it isn't a Republican doing this. It has to do with wasting taxpayer money...as usual.

Is he really? Well, I won't be a hypocrite, and if a Democrat is as bad as I have read above, then I would oppose him as strongly as I would a Republican right-winger.

Heh, there are now ads on TV for a finger tip vibrator by KY brand lube.
Ads for condoms, ads for feminine hygeine, ads for extenz (natural male enhancer - doncha love that) so if the kids ask, tell 'em it's 'grown up stuff' like ads for lipitor and they'll understand when they're older.

    Old joke:

boy kid 1 : I wanna buy some tampax...
boy kid 2 : What? why?

boy kid 1 : Because then we can go swimming, hiking, horseback riding, biking..... icon_lol.gif
