Court documents from Carrie Prejean's parents divorce show that her mother accused Carrie's father of now get this ......................

    BEING GAY!!! icon_eek.gif

So I guess that's what she meant by Opposite Marriage

    http://www.celebuzz.com/miss-california-product-half-gay-s104901/
In one of the divorce documents, Prejean's father described an argument he had with Carrie's mother in the parking lot of a restaurant, during which "Ms. Prejean accused me, in front of our daughter, of homosexuality." The divorce papers also quote a court-appointed doctor saying, "The mother questioned [within hearing of Prejean and her sister] whether [Mr. Prejean] was a homosexual or had a homosexual roommate."

People say some pretty hurtful things during a divorce. Unless he come out and say it I'm inclined to believe he's straight. The things my parents did and said during their divorced were incredible.

Hmmm, you know, if her Dad is gay that doesn't change things a whit, as there are gay men right here on this site that are against gay marriage, one even bragged in the forums that he voted yes to prop 8, saying gay marriage discriminated against single gays.

By continually attacking her beliefs and her personal life, you are just continuing to make her relevant and that's a shame.

I could give two shits what Miss California thinks about gay marriage. What I do care about is the low level people are stooping to in order to discredit her for having an opinion contrary to their own. It just ends up making everyone look like petty assholes.

It's frustrating that so many creative, vibrant and intelligent people are motivated to destroy someone to make their own point of view seem more credible.

    Her parents marriage? really?

I do agree that if a certain person who is a media whore and who has a website and who asked the question in the first place hadnt gone all over the net and cursed her to kingdom come she would havee faded into Hooters Oblivion
But we have the here and now and she IS running all over the media
and we have to counter what she says and who she is
Do I think she should go away?
Yeah, but that aint gonna happen anytime soon

So, if you wanna play the media game you gotta be willing to get burned

Do I think her father is gay? Probably not
and Yeah I do think that it was probably said in the heat of a testy divorce but I do find it interesting that someone whos seen that as a child
and heard it said about her dad will now have this whole MORAL point of view

    I disagree.
She is miss California. That's it. We are giving her too much credit. It's like Joe the plumber part deux. Who gives a shit about such banal talking heads for the christian right. It's so uninspired and repetitive that I am shocked we even have a response to it anymore. It's not as if she was able to craft some clever response. Some young, overly made up pageant girl doesn't think I should get married... so what? Attempting to frighten her into silence by having people dig up everything from her past is beyond disgusting.
She was asked HER OPINION at Miss USA , not the United Nations.

People drooling over salacious rumors about topless photos and her supposedly gay father is desperate and I just think that we should expect more from our opponents and ourselves.
    that's all.

    Mnjock-

I agree 100%. She was asked her opinion...cool she's doesn't agree with a gay marriage. So what. It's just her opinion she does not shape public policy.

Digging up this mess about her father...come on! This another form outting regarding rumors that may not even be true. Even if they are does he not deserve some aspect of privacy.

These ideals that she has may not even be shared by her father.

The only reason she has a platform is because she is being attacked for her own opinion. Precisely what you are continuing to do. You are the spoke in the wheel driving her float in the anti gay parade.

This country is moving forward. Public opinions about gay marriage are continuing to slide in our favor. Those that choose to be left behind are just a a decade or two from being marginalized bigots. I think that's exciting.

The real important question is.... Who cares, so what... Is he out there preaching about anything? Nope... His daughter is her own person, and whatever photos she had taken in the past maybe to start up her career or whatever doesn't mean a thing... I don't exactly remember her saying anyone who is this that or this is going to hell, or is wrong. She just simply said basically she don't care what anyone else does, but with the way she was raised, and in her faith it wasn't something she'd condone end of story.

She spoke her mind, and didn't give some politically correct answer like all the other little plastic dolls up there haha,

I'm against gay marriage, but I don't feel it should be banned to anyone, nor should the couple be denied of any benefits a normal couple would have.. Government/politicians shouldn't be involved in those things.

The fact that people try to demonize her, or make fun of her really shows how pathetic society has become... Now I wonder what would have happened if she was Muslim, and said the very same things.. I don't think people would be so quick to jump on her.. Because all of the politically correct people out there, would be too afraid of being seen as "intolerant to Muslim beliefs" haha. But because she's white, and Christian its all good.

The never-ending whining about how Christians are persecuted.

And what is it about gay marriage that you oppose? Do you believe that gays should never be eligible for the 1,138 federal rights that marriage conveys?

I don't think you have the faintest idea who the genuinely persecuted are.

    1. Nobody is whining about anything. I was just making a very clear point/observation on how its ok to bash/make fun of Christians, but people get all worked up if its done to any other religion, you get called intolerant. Even funnier how the people who throw the intolerant complaints, or racist complaints out...Are never tolerant of other people's beliefs, feelings, traditions, values, ect themselves... So they're nothing more than pitiful little hypocrites.

Me personally I crack on everyone, don't like political correctness and I don't ever give anyone the power to offend me, I'll basically tell em how pathetic I think they are, have a laugh, move on, and forget about em, knowing most definitely that I'm better than they are icon_smile.gif

    2. I think if you actually used your brain besides when you have a penis in your mouth, you would have clearly saw that I said nothing about "believing gays shouldn't be able to marry..." Go back and read my first post more carefully, and do that in the future to save yourself from looking like a moron icon_smile.gif

"I'm against gay marriage, but I don't feel it should be banned to anyone, nor should the couple be denied of any benefits a normal couple would have.. Government/politicians shouldn't be involved in those things."

That is what I said, which means, me personally because of my beliefs, and my views on male male relationships, I'm against it.. But I don't think others should be denied it, nor denied the typical rights/benefits that go along with marriage. If a friend or family member of mine was marrying another man, I'd be there for them, because I'm their friend/family love em, want to see em happy, so I'd be there for them on their day...God gave you brains boy use em haha

    3. I know all too well about who is genuinely persecuted, being that I have friends/family who I care about who've had to deal with it. Try living in some other countries as you live here, and you'll know real persecution little man. I'm also proud I have people in my family who've fought for those who've been persecuted.

I agree if she didn't get the notoriety she received because of Hilton's comments we wouldn't be in this battle but fortunately or unfortunately
.... depending on your look on life
we're in it and we cannot let them have the upper hand by being quiescent

I am not sure speculating on her fathers sexuality is the best way to gain "the upper hand".
I just think that we are so much better than this. Instigating a witch hunt and fighting with Miss California over HER OPINION just suggests that we are silly. Perez Hilton cannot win a battle of wits with her so he has resorted to name calling and posting childish innuendo's about her family online and that's very damaging to the rest of us who don't treat other's civil liberties so trivially. I was thrilled she gave her honest opinion... especially to the gay man who asked the question. Although it's unfortunate she is unable to realize that she is a bigot, I applaud her honesty. In case you have forgotten, Barack Obama has said almost those exact words also. It's a slippery slope to start punishing people for telling their version of truth. We have to start from an honest place if we are ever going to change things.

If this is the way civil rights are won, we are in trouble.
