I race. On the streets. I've been doing it for a long time. So I guess I'm a professional by now. icon_lol.gif

What sort of racing are you asking about? Drag car? NASCAR? IRL? F1? Rally?

Back when I lived in Ohio I used to do road (not street) racing. I actually miss working on cars. It was almost therapeutic tearing apart a car and putting it back together. Can't beat the adrenaline of the track either.

Never did it professionally though - sorry.

Why do you ask? Are you interested in racing? Or interested in the behind the scenes stuff? Interested in working on cars?

I don't race and I don't have much mechanical ability. I do enjoy watching the Nascar races on television, though.Last month's Nascar races at Talladega were pretty rough. Matt Kenseth flipped his car & it caught fire. Carl Edwards had a horrendous accident, his car hit & flipped all over, went into the chainlink fence around the stands, some of the fans on the other side had minor injuries from falling debris, one girl apparently had a broken jaw.Luckily, neither Matt nor Carl had any injuries from their accidents. Carl might not be doing any backflips for a while, though.

That's awesome. One way you can start out is by participating in local SCCA SOLO racing. Do you have a car? Do you know how to drive it? If so, then check it out.
