Interesting video. Hysteria does seem to override a balanced view. There are many common sense arguments against "religious" like hysterical views of this topic, unfortunately people get so convinced, they just can't hear anything else.
I had an.. should I say.. disagreement with my sister just yesterday about the effects of steroids on males.
She is a Registered Nurse, so she had done all the training on different drugs and how they work etc, yet all she had to say about the matter was that they give roid rage and shrunken testicles.
Even though she knows I have done a fair more amount of research into things to do with exercising and personal health, my points on the argument were deemed false by her.
I guess it is what the mass media and the governments want people to know yet again..
Thanks for putting this up. I agree. Everything can kill you. Too much water will put you in cardiac arrest, screws up your potassium. I prob will use something like HGH one day but I need to educate myself about it first, Biochemically/Physiologically and talk to people who know what they are doing. Like my parents say, "everything in moderation is fine."
Is this the same "award winning" show that doctored the interview with John Cena and made it look like he said he had taken steroids when he didnt? It might not be but just the same, you obviously should believe everything you see in the media.
How irresponsible is it to tell teenagers who are already wrestling with elevated hormones they cant control to shoot up high doses of more potent hormones that they cant control so they can make the team? I mean really?!!!! Steroids dont cause depression in teens? REALLY?!!!!!
If you want to destroy your body long term to look good now thats your perrogative. Im not saying its right or wrong or should be legal or illegal. Im saying though from a moral standpoint. If i am engaged in competition with you and i busted my ass to get here and had to fight through injuries and aches and pains and age etc, but you had "the great eraser" to help you through all that, then how are we on an equal playing field? Steroids is CHEATING!!!!!! And the only people who endorse that crap are the people who either abuse it themselves or the people who admire the people who abuse it and want to be like them. This is absolutely amazing to me that people will go to these lengths to try to decriminalize drugs.
And last i checked, it WAS still illegal to drink underage and do illegal drugs and they do "go after it" regularly.
I really don't care, too be quite honest lol people take crack, crank, heroin, marijuana, alcohol, cigarettes etc...why not steroids If they don't like it, then don't assist people, by making it accessible to purchase.
Regardless of my opinion on this piece, 20/20 is hardly a reputable news station and John Stossel is a Libertarian idiot known for distorting facts on his segments. I loved his idea that we do away with the donor organ list system and just have free market capitalism decide who gets transplants and when.
Hey chucky, thanks so much for posting this! I had heard on RxMuscle.com's podcast they were doing this special with John Romano and Mr. G but I forgot all about it!
I think anyone can abuse ANY drug, even vitamin C has severe health risks when taken abusively, but the govt doesnt say anything about that do they?
Cigarettes and Alcohol kill more people including underage kids than almost any other drug, but they are legal...why? If the concern is really health and well being...they shouldnt be legal.
I think its all a bunch of crap. If a woman can do anything to her body, get implants, birthcontrol, have her unborn baby sucked out of her womb and chopped up into little bity pieces than why shouldnt I be able to take steroids legally if I want to...its my body.
I dont think kids should be taking them though. Teenage males have enough Testosterone in their system they dont need it. But if Im over age 18 and I want to take them for cosmetic reasons I should be able to.
Now I think I will go get drunk and ruin my liver and kidneys and my health, but thats ok, because its legal. Anybody got a cigarette?

They properly fixed him up, didn't they? When asked if he'd used steroids he said,
'Absolutely not. I can't tell you that I haven't, you'll never be able to prove that I have.'
But they edited out the 'absolutely not', bit. Lol.
Still though, I'm pretty sure that he has taken steroids. Either that, or he's a genetic freak. Just look at him. No one looked like that before steroids became mainstream in the 60s and 70s.
I've said it before, but you're never going to stop steroid use. You might as well allow everyone in competition to use them. This would even the playing field.

Don't agree. rich countries then have a competitive advantange - remember how the USA screamed bloody murder when the east german pseudo women swimmers trashed the world in several Olympics....
I have to say that I agree with the statement that if certain leagues want to ban steroids it is fine by me. However in the general population, it is just another type of knife free surgery and for me at least falls in the realm of laser, botox and others.
There may be some correlational evidence, but the most important thing to remember is that a positive or negative correlation does not equal causality ! A major flaw in the argument against steroids in the video. Someone should have done his homework.

What if you don't want to use steroids? See the problem it creates? A person shouldn't have to take steroids and suffer the possible side effects in their body just because other people are willing.
If they are going to do it in sports what they should do is separate natural athletes from unnatural ones.
This video doesn't prove anything as well, it's just one doctor vs another saying the other is wrong with no evidence. It's not 'truth on juice', it's more like 'hearsay'.
Notice how the guy doing the interview asked the anti-steroid doctor for evidence but didn't ask the same of the pro-steroid doctor?
I think this 20/20 guy is just trying to get attention not find the 'truth' about things.
sure, decriminalize steroids but it should be kept out of competitive sports. one should have the option of not having to use enhancers and compete at a fair playing field.
