Each and everyday I try to do sometime of workout. I'm a beiever in wearing my jockstrap due to past groin injuries. In the locker romm when I change to workout or get into the shower, you can see men in everything from bikni underwear to there jockstrap or nothing at all. My question is, when i get in the whirlpool or the steam room, should I keep my jock on or go in the buff? It appears that men don't really care because I have seen it all! Your input is greatly appreciated.

Well in my gym's sauna, I doubt no one cares overtly too much. I've seen guys wearing everything and anything in them, from fully clothed to totally nude. Personally, I just leave the swimsuit I already wore for the pool on. No big deal there at all. Although, if I ever come across another guy wearing just a jockstrap while in the sauna, I think that would be just about the hottest thing I could possibly imagine.

I like to be all nude, when in the whirlpool or steam room. But I just like to be naked and take any excuse to be nude icon_razz.gif

I wear a towel (out of consideration and cleanliness for sitting) and shower shoes, too

I rarely see any guys at my gym wearing jockstraps. C'ept for myself. I used the steam room often until a few years ago, an undesireable went *pinchypinchy.* From then on using the steamroom made me feel unclean. But before that, I always wrapped a towel around my waist at all times and kept the jock back in my locker. Jockstraps in a steam room are way hot right out of gay pornos. But I've never seen this is real life. And I always stood up in the steamroom. Didn't want my buttcheeks near the tile. Flipflops too. icon_surprised.gif

In gyms in the past I'd just wear a towel. But in my new gym which is incredibly straight everyone wears shorts, underwear or swimming cossies. I always wear swimming trunks as everyone seems very wary of each other. My gym isn't the friendliest.

Well I belong to a pretty conservative gym. However, it is intersting because most of the man (90% or better) do walk around naked. Great bodies, or not.

I have always prefered being naked, but that is me and I am comfortable with my body and myself. I think it is a personal preference.

I just dig being naked so I walk around in the buff whenever I get even half a chance to do so... Locker rooms and steam rooms are definately two places you don't need an excuse to walk around naked. For hygenic reasons however I use a towl to sit on... I kinda have this thing about touching public areas that people sit on and stuff...

I think there should be a rule where all good looking guys to be nude, and those who are not to wear a towel in steam room. But in real world, it's usually the opposite. the lease you want to see them nude, the more they like to share with you.

er on the side of caution. Swimsuit for hot tubs and sauna (my gym's is co-ed), and towel in the steam room.

It depends on where the whirlpool and sauna is located. Ive been to several different clubs (all co-ed) and prefer to go nude if directly located in the locker room but wear a swim suit if in a common area for obvious reasons.

I can't be nude cause mr happy thinks he is going to be entertaining company. With me its shorts or the inevitable, and embarrassing BOING.

Like zeusmuscle, I go to a gym on that is fairly conservative. The gym is located in a politically conservative and affluent suburban area. The whirlpool, sauna, and steam room are situated within the men's locker room.

Gym rules require anyone using the sauna or steam room to wear a swimsuit/trunks or, in the alternative, to be wrapped in a towel. I am constantly amazed, however, given the predominant conservative thinking in the area- there must be something in the drinking water- at the number of guys (probably 75%) that are naked when using the whirlpool since the gym has no rule requiring that anything be worn when in the whirlpool.

I personally like to be naked in the whirlpool because I like to situate myself in front of one of the jet sprays so a certain part of my anatomy is subjected to a gentle massage by the water coming out of the jet spray. You really should try it some time yourself since it is an absolutely wonderful thing to experience! I definitely wish it were permissible to be naked in the sauna and steam room but such is not my fortune to be as unrestrained as I am in the whirlpool. Maybe some day the gym rules will be changed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that!

I personally take any opportunity I have to give jimmy his freedom. But, then again, that's one of my biggest assets. My advice is Do You brothaman.

Sit on a towel if you're worried about sanitation.

I normally wear my swim suit only because I swim. If not I would be wearing my boxer brief. I do see other guys doing all kinds of crazy stuff. Don't ask me why, its just is! Maybe its their comfort level on their bodies. Or just simply don't care what other people think of themselves and just to relax to forget about their problems.

In the steamroom or sauna I'd like to be naked but there are certain places in there I wouldn't want any of my skin to touch icon_eek.gif

Always shower before going in the hot tub/sauna/steam room etc!

I stand in the sauna and stretch; I don't sit down and I try not to touch anything.

For attire - I would say wear bathing suite or nothing w/ a towel. Underwear/jockstraps seem pretty skanky.

as hot as a jock sounds, its probably something left for the movies or if you have a private sauna...

I usually sport a towel, at least to sit on.

Depending on its location, some of my gyms have coed, I wear a swim suit or towel. I cant even sit on a bench where someone nude was sitting previously without covering up the spot first. I just feel its unsanitary and rather distasteful.

Its a shower ( or steam or sauna) NOT a laundry!..why are you wearing anything in a shower or steam room except a towel ...do you shower at home in a bathing suit?...thats why they provide towels at a gym...do your laundry at home where it belongs

First LOSE the jockstrap! ancient technology .... UnderArmour and similar support gear are WAY better support, look better and wick away moisture and you can wear them in the wet area as well.

Naked is a matter of choice.

/ But jock straps are hotter.

I generally go nude/towel if the facilities are in the mens area. The thing that confuses me is the guy I saw in the shower, not shy or hiding in the corner, acting normal (group showers, no stalls) but wraps his towel around his waist going to the locker (fine normal, whatever) then does the body shy puts his underwear on under his towel thing. I get why guys who don't shower, do that (I think it's dumb but whatever) but why do it if you were just showing it all in the shower.
