"The office of Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley made the statement a day after ABCNews.com revealed that Aiden Quinn was hired in 2007 from a lottery that consisted of minority candidates. Quinn's status at that time was female-to-male transgender, and sources told ABC News that status was what qualified him as a minority. "

Bill O'Reilly was pointing out the fact that the person was hired out of a pool of minority-only candidates for his job, instead of the most qualified of a pool of every applicant who applied. (The train operator's "minority" was that he is transgendered.) The entire point of the segment on the show was to point out that, instead of hiring the most qualified candidate for the job, the municipality chose to discriminate and only hire out of a pool of people with some minority characteristic.

So, "O'Reilly does what again" exactly? Points out a fact that you can't legitimately dispute?

I gotta agree with Stonecold as well. When it comes to my safety and the safety of the public I want the most qualified person, not someone given preferential hiring because they are a minority.
