I'm taking my first voice lesson today because being an artist (I'm a dancer), its good to be schooled in several art forms nowadays. I'm super nervous! Dogs usual start howling and the rainy weather can be blamed on me when I sing hence why I'm taking lessonsicon_lol.gif. But I was just wondering if any RealJockers sing? Do you mind sharing your talents with us?

*Guys who sing are sexy...Michael Buble anyone?

I am classically trained. I'd share but I doubt there are many on here who would listen to much opera. That and I don't know how to do it anyway icon_redface.gif

Awesome! I'm not really paying for them either. Its more of a trade. She gives me a voice lesson, I give her a private ballet class.

I used to sing in high school. I did chamber choir and jazz choir. Our jazz choir was really good...we got to perform at a vocal jazz festival at Carnegie Hall.

Nowadays, I just sing in the car and in the shower. icon_biggrin.gif

not trained, but took concert band for eight years of school, and I play guitar and sing.

I'm not the greatest, but I don't suck.

I'm an 'at home' singer and love to sing in any room where there's an echo, shower, stair-well, sauna!! I've ventured on the stage(musicals) a few times to combine several of my loves, namely dance, acting and singing. I'll be honest, I'm more of a jack-of-all-trades and master of none. But appreciate a good voice of any genre. It is such a gift and one to be used and shared i believe!!icon_smile.gif

I used to sing when I was younger. Haven't done much of it in recent years.

Classically trained, sort-of semi-pro, as I've been paid to sing numerous times in the past, and perform decently often. Mostly in English Traditional Harmony. Have a joke that in church I have to make sure I don't hurt the people in front of my as my voice is pretty loud.

Although my BA is in musicology, I studied voice in college. I sing gospel, R&B, jazz, and classical. My voice is still a work in progress, but I've sung for weddings, concerts, and functions. I've also done studio recording sessions (background vocals). Studio sessions are both fun and frustrating: you get to sing beautiful harmonies icon_smile.gif, but you're expected to sing your part as technically perfect as possible, repeating certain sections as many times as needed. icon_evil.gif

I hope to resume voice lessons in the fall. Bad vocal habits are often hard to break. And I've picked up a few icon_redface.gif.

Good luck with your vocal studies!

I can sing with the likes of George Michael, Jeremy Jordan, JC Chasez, Michael Franks, Jermaine Jackson, Albert Fields of The Party, to name a few. Give me a couple of old school songs I know & I can belt them to the best of my ability. I was singing in my church choir and singing at my older siblings cookouts & parties LONG BEFORE American Idol was to ever come to the States. My older siblings were calling me either N I K or Nik Stratus, which I hated.but got used to after a while. The only reason I haven't gotten out there is well, I've gotten hip to the shady side of things & I can smell it a mile away when it comes. I am in the process of recording demos, as we speak. More into the Hip-Hop Soul, R&B, almost anything with rhythm.

I've started singing when I was 5, and have been singing ever since! Classically trained, but I tend to sing more broadway style (since i do theatre) and modern things. Singing is a great way for anyone to express themselves, and I think its one of the sexiest things when a guy can sing icon_smile.gif

I would love to trade voice lessons for ballet lessons :-)
I'm a singer, somewhat classically trained, though I've never had 1 on 1 voice lessons, I like to think I'm a pretty decent singer.
I always wanted to dance, and never got the balls for it. There's still time though. Someday I will be a danseur/ballerino.

I sing all the time . . . it's one of the greatest joys of my life . . . life would be horribly flat and bland without it . . .
