Looking at getting two tats, word wrapped around right bicep (BORICUA) and artwork back left shoulder blade.

Why did you paint your flesh?

Got inked because I have wanted a tattoo since the 1970s when I was a kid. Didn't take the plunge until I hit 40s. Have always thought tastefully done ink that has a meaning and thought put behind it is definitely a work of art.

i agree, only get a tattoo if it has significant meaning for you. otherwise you will regret it later on

I love boricuas, and if they're tatted up then it's a bonus. I say get both of them.

Is that a Con or a Pro? Personally, that why I waited so long to get tatted. I knew it was going to be permanent and so I weighed the decision for a long time until I know how I wanted to permanently decorate a part of my body.

The permanence of tattooing is the pro, in my opinion. It won't wash off. Therefore, people who change their mind and moods often should deeply consider if tattooing is really an option for them.

both my tattoos are parts of my story, reminding me of where i've been... and they are cool ;) i found it was a deeply spiritual experience. that's just personal. i think so long as you make it personal, not for anyone else or because you are wasted or 'in love' it will be completely satisfying.

but then again i've got decades before my shit starts sagging so... who know's who i'll feel when my tat's turn to mush ;)

I have a flaming skull with roses in its eyes, ripping out of a Coco Puffs box wrapped in barbed wire, being stabbed by daggers and the drops of blood are actually hearts.

    not really.

I don't know what boricua is.

I wiki'd it and it could be a Puerto Rican person, or the Puerto Rican secret service, or a college in New York. If it's any of those, I'd think twice...

wait, Puerto Rico has a sercret service? wtf?

Others may see a con in it but if it's something you really want and you put some thought into it's fine. Just as long as your happy with it and wasn't drunk when you got it. I got my first one when i was 22 and it was of my sign but a creative drawing of it with olive branches around it which stand for peace and goodwill. It may be permanent but i don't see it as a con in my case.

So, piece that is a cross between Goya and Picasso, OK. Cousin who is a artist (not tattoo artist) in San Francisco is rendering me an image for a Tattoo artist. She is good, won't see image until November but anxious. Still may say NOT if piece not what I want.

TATTOOS are so freakin hot! my eyes immediately gravitate towards inked arms or shoulders. Its such a turn on. Especially the nicely designed ones. If you got a freakin' disney character - then nevermind! Tribal designs are over-ratted too. If you get a tattoo, make sure its something you love and has meaning to you because it will a part of you indefinitely.

I love the tattoo I got on my arm this year. I'll probably end up putting something on the left side now too. My tattoos are for me and my own satisfaction. If a guy doesn't like tattoos, too bad.

I think now is the time to invest in a business that specializes in tatoo removal. I bet in a few years...the clean look will be the rage.......

Of course, the guys who got tatoos that REALLY mean something to them won't give a crap about what the rage is. They are the ones who put a lot of thought into it before getting inked, and their tats mean something to them.

If you have no connection to Oriental, Maori, or any other real tribal group or culture, then I suggest don't get those kinds, no matter how cool they look. I've seen guys who have the exact same tats as the advertisements on manhunt. Boring. ( a little creativity would be better).

I would like to get some tats, but not a specific symbol type. Much like people use jewelry, I would ink my body in the same way...to highlight certain curves to the muscles. But I haven't been able to find a source of information about that kind.

I got mine to remind me never to get myself into debt again if it's in anyway avoidable.

Because of that, if I ever consider getting a credit card I can look at it and remember the two years it took to get outta the hole I got myself into.

That and It's fucking Gambit. <3

Sometimes it doesn't need meaning, some art is just timeless...

Other art is in regards to origins...
