The Anti Straight Leg Pants Thread

Who else is with me on this one? Am I the only one who just hates the whole straight leg or -- worse yet -- skinny jeans/pants trend? It's becoming harder and harder for me to find pants that are NOT straight leg. I'm a boot-cut kind of guy because my legs are beastly thick, and I have dense hamstrings that lead to a meaty butt. I tried on skinny jeans once, and they looked hideous. But the stores that I tend to shop at -- particularly H&M and Zara because they have small sizes that fit my 5'5, 135lb frame -- sell almost entirely straight leg pants or skinny jeans. Just the other day I bought a pair of linen pants from H&M, and while they're nice overall, I just hate how it's not wider at the ankles. Ugh, I just hate the narrow look!

Bootcut, bootcut, wherefore art thou bootcut? =(

I'm sure I'm not alone in my preference for the wider fit at the ankles. Where else is there to shop?!

    Let's discuss =)

    Tony

Hahaha i'm going to have to agree with you on this one. I hate the whole "skinny" jeans thing. I'm more of a bootcut jeans person. My cousin tried to get me a pair of skinny jeans for Xmas i told her i will use it to wash my car. lol

I love my Levi's 501 jeans. Skinny boy/girl jeans are awful and not attractive at all (especially because you must be anorexic to wear them).

I'm with you on that and no, I am not jealous or envious of the guys with little to no meat on their legs, not ass to speak of or sit on and the anorexic looking 20 inch waist lines.

Ok, I feel better now, but seriously, those pants can't possibly be comfortable, even for the people who can fit them and of course, you must only have a size 6 should so that you won't look like you have hobbit feet due to the non flare, peg bottom of the pant leg. sheesh....

    Hahaha, anytime stud!

On another note, where can we find pants that aren't the skinny type? Shopping is becoming so painful for me! =(

I totally agree with you there!! 90% of my jeans are from AE! They're amazing when it comes to sizes-- they have almost every combination. The only drawback of AE though is that they don't really have semi-casual/a-tad-more-formal types of pants, like beige or black slacks that you'd find at H&M. There's gotta be an equivalent of AE that sells such clothing.

I wear Slim Bootleg jeans from Lucky Brand. They are not "skinny" jeans, they're just a little smaller in the thigh. I don't have thunder thighs, so they fit me well.

    Here's an example: http://www.luckybrand.com/Slim-Bootleg-Jeans/LBX16563,default,pd.html?cgid=mensJeans&selectedColor=490x700
They're not really that much smaller at all. Best jeans for that price, in my opinion.

I hate skinny jeans because if my pants don't fit over the tops of my shoes I feel completely uncomfortable the whole time. Skinny jeans look great on certain women, men I think should stick to the bootleg or straight leg cut, usually is much more flattering and doesn't make me feel sorry for their testicles being crammed into such a small stretch of fabric.

I agree with the 501s, but I love skinny jeans on cute skinny boys. And, to me, boot cut is just another term for bell-bottoms... no thanks.

Anne...errrr..ummm...Tony, thems child-bearing hips you got, girl. Put on those straight leg jeans and flaunt that fat ass ... ummm.... meaty butt.

So, just tell me, girl, just between you and me....is that why you wear that hat? ...to detract attention from your fat ...ummm ... meaty butt and dense hamstrings.

    ...Oh, have I told you....love the hat! ... icon_wink.gif

I know how you feel dear, I've the same problem, except, I can't even get straightleg pants over my thighs without going up 4 sizes and then I'm screwed if I wanna move in them..

I eventually found CK jeans had cuts that worked for me, they don't do a huge amount for my arse, but I don't care I can fit in them, there comfortable and they don't fall down.

I'm built like a male-version of Beyonce: hips, thighs AND ass. If I even dreamed about wearing skinny/straight-leg jeans, I'd laugh at myself. For the more preppy jeans with a good wash I like to buy Aeropostale and Old Navy boot cut jeans. For the "ethnic" jeans, I usually wear Evisu or SouthPole.

If you can wear those, you also have no ass.

I don't have "thunder thighs", but I do have muscular thighs. And a bubble butt. No way I could wear those.

levis.com still make them so stop your whining.

I like my 501 and I like the newer 511 skinny. They fit me like a glove and no I do not have child bearing hips...I work out to much!!

They are very hip now and will be for awhile so get use to them. That baggy shit had to go!

Slap a pair of nice convers (shoes) high tops on and your it!

"Ethnic" or "Urban" jeans look like this. These are Evisu jeans, I like the way they fit but I only buy the ones that have designs on the back pockets.
