Anyone have surgery on their "goods"?

I had 2 orchiopexies done on my right testicle because it was retracting into my body and causing immense pain. So there are a few permanent sutures anchoring my right nut to my scrotum.

About 4 months after the second surgery I've been having a lot of sharp pains that happen frequently throughout the day every day (happening for about 3 years now). I've seen a couple urologists and they keep giving me run around answers, like telling me to wait longer or having the nerves on my spermatic cord cut so I wont be able to feel by testicle. I dont want the nevres cut and I am sick of waiting.

I feel that the sutures are causing some pain. Is it reasonable to think that? And is it reasonable to want them removed? They tell me removing the sutures might remove the pain, but they never explore that option with me.....why cant they try it first and if it causes more pain, then maybe cut the nerves as a last resort, you know?

Its funny because I've been offered to have my epiditimys removed but no one wants to talk about removing the sutures. Whats up with that?

Also, anyone else have any surgeries down there?

    I feel for you!

A few years ago I had a swelling in my scrotum that caused me a lot of pain but when I had x-rays done it came up nothing. Eventually it went away after a couple of months. I had convinced myself I had testicular cancer.

If I were you I would keep changing urologists until I started getting straight answers. Calling them on it may help.

Oh, geez. I think mine are retracting right now.

It just occurred to me that a friend of mine is a urologist (sorry, not in your area). I'd feel funny asking him this question out of the blue, but if I can find an occasion to bring this up, I'll ask and send you an e-mail with his reply.

I did find an article in a urology textbook that after an orchiopexy, chronic pain can be caused by a suture or scar. Only a urologist would know if this is your problem or if removing the sutures would help. I hope you can found a urologist that you can work with and have confidence in. Here is a link to the article on Google books. It is mentioned in the second paragraph under the topic neuralgia.
