I can't sing, or at least I don't think I can sing. However, if I could sing there are a few songs I would like to belt out in a Karaoke bar. Number one on that list is Help Yourself by Tom Jones.

If you could sing, what would you sing?

If I could sing, I sing everything, all the time.
I'd sing in the morning, I'd sing in the evening, I'd sing all over this land -no, wait, that's only if I could find a hammer...hmmm...nevermind, I can't sing.

the only awards i've won are for my vocal performance...

My favorite Karaoke song is "Sooner or Later" from Dick Tracy. I also like to sing "One More Try" but that tends to make drunk 'mos cry.

I don't have a good voice, so try to disarm people, get into character, and make them laugh. I sing karaoke badly to songs that sound funny when sung badly. :

Take Your Mama Out - Scissor Sisters
Faith - George Michael (but I do the Limp Bizkit version)
    Photograph - Def Leppard

    ...or I rap. FUN.

    Jump - House of Pain
Nuthin' But A "G" Thang - Dr. Dre (I nail this one)

And somehow I can breathe my way through Careless Whisper by Wham!.

I used to do a little garage band singing in the late 80s. They were more top 40-pop ish. I kinda preferred more hard rock stuff. As for karaoke stuff...Love You To Death or Wolf Moon by Type O Negative for starters would be nice. I think Peter Steele has one of the coolest sounding, deepest voices I've ever heard.

RuggerWhat is it about George Michael and karaoke?

I don't know, but if you like George Michael and rapping, then you ought to do Wham Rap at the next Karaoke night. Aero posted the hilarious video for the song in the Stupid Gay Songs thread.

I LOVE Wham! Rap. Then and now. I may be the only continuous fan other than George.

Might have something to do with that processed cheese diet I was fed as a calf. ;-)

lol StripperRocco, I was just singing "Sooner or Later" in the car yesterday! It was tossed into the revue Putting It Together, but I didn't remember it from Dick Tracy until you mentioned it here.

I'm a Bad Gay, I don't know pop songs. I don't do Karaoke because the only B'way songs normally listed are "Hey Big Spender," "New York New York," and other cliches I refuse to sing [in public].

thecureforeverything, I'll sing "Suddenly Seymour" with ya. It's in my range.

I've never done karaoke, but here are a few I'd love to sing (but would never get away with!):

Lenny Kravitz: Are you gonna go my way
    Jefferson Airplane: Somebody to love
Rolling Stones: You can't always get what you want
    Janis Joplin: Move over
    U2: One Tree Hill
Wild Cherry: Play that funky music white boy

I could probably pull off Rufus Wainwright's Maker Makes, but that seems a bit heavy for karaoke.

I have a passable baritone. I'd like to sing:
Dusty Springfield "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me"
    U2 "One"
    Eurhthmics "Who's That Girl?"
    Madness "It Must Be Love"

RuggerI LOVE Wham! Rap. Then and now. I may be the only continuous fan other than George.

It's because you've got street credibility.

Honestly, I used to love that song, too. When I was in grade eleven in 1981 or so, it was the freshest sound I had ever heard. Oh, how times have changed. Now I just want to learn the dance moves from the video.
