Which works better? Barbell or curl-bar.

its whatever you prefer or better yet what your wrists prefer. Either or is fine. I go back and forth...sometimes when I have some random pain on the top of my forearm or wrist I do the curl bar because its less stressful

which ever bar doesn't really matter to much, just the quality of the contraction..

If you find an ezicurl bar better go with that or use dumbbells

Do both. The angle of your hands/wrists will determine how much of the workload goes to your biceps. If your hands/wrists are straight, then it's all biceps. If your hands/wrists are angled, then some of the emphasis is put on the muscle that connects your forearm to your bicep.

I have been doing curls with a plate and raising one foot off the ground. Engages the core and you can't cheat using your momentum to swing the plate up. Big burn with lighter weight.

*not claiming to be an expert, but seems to work for me.

I never thought of that, I'll give it a shot.

unless your form is incredibly poor just splitting your stance should stop rocking back and forth
