Check out a Yoga practice. It is a thorough workout - you sweat like you wouldn't believe......especially in an advanced class. Amazing! Ever done it? (Photo not from our class - but from another group).

Reminds me of that Saturday Night Live skit with Will Ferrell where he was taking yoga so he could blow himself. They had the fake legs in front of them and he had his head inside his sweats and was going to town. Funny shit.

Never done it. Didnt really see the monetary worth.

yeah I do yoga, if you really put your all into it, it can be an incredible workout.

I haven't practiced in weeks though since i banged up my shoulder, but need to get back into it.

Yoga's a lot of fun for me. If for nothing else, I can show off to my inflexible friends. Some of the stretches are quite difficult, but the elated feeling is a great payoff and a great way to start any day.

I find yoga to be beneficial for endurance, strength, and clearing my head. Last Summer I set huge PRs after adding yoga into my workout routine. I've been inconsistent with my practice.

If you're concerned about monetary cost check meetup.com. I found a couple of meetup groups in my area. Most are run by certified instructors and the cost is nominal compared to taking a class at a studio. Also studios a few studios will do donation only classes. This may be practice or an "audition" for a newly certified instructor. Other donation classes, you may bring in a non-perishable food item, or a small monetary donation for a charity.

Also if your gym offers group exercise, check the schedule for a yoga class. The only thing is that you kind of miss out on a serene environment...the instructors do the best they can with it...

I know, I know.... but yoga is not designed to kick ass. I did astanga and iyengar (not at the same time) for a number of years and they are physically hard practices, especially astanga in the sense that you are doing this series 6 days a week (minus moon days).

This catches the vibe of astanga well
