i want to start jump -roping for cardio to help melt fat in my midsection and when i read up on it it says that 30 mintures of jump rope is great. but i was confused cause i read some articles that say 30 minutes of jump rope but i dont know if they mean straight through or r u supposed to take breaks inbetween or what? because 30 min straight of jump roping seems semi impossible.

ive bought a jump rope and the handles are wieghts. is this even a good cardio work out?
and also do any of you do jump roping for ur cardio? how do u feel about it?

    thanks...

well 30 minutes is a very long number at first if you could do 30 minutes of intense skipping I'd be bloody impressed..

Start off going for 5 if you can manage that go for 10 and so on and so on.

once you get accomplished at the normal skipping you can start throwing moves in, makes it a lot more fun.

I started jumping rope recently. I only do it once a week. I try to do it for 10 minutes, but I cannot do it for 10 minutes straight yet. I do it for as long as I can, take a 30 second break, then start again.

The first time I did it, I couldn't make it 2 minutes. My feet and ankles hurt too much. I found that I need to do some warm up first on either the treadmill or elliptical.
