icon_idea.gifThen they would have to let us marry otherwise they are violating our religious freedom. I am bored and curious and also wonder if anyone ever tried this before?icon_twisted.gif

Caslon, if this gay religion thing takes off there will be many gods. In fact, each gay man will view himself as a deity. icon_wink.gif

Probably someone on here would want to be worshipped as a "greek god" type. Besides "gaydom" lacks the requirements of religious expression (LOL)

No need for gay religion in Canada (thank GOD there are already enough problems in this world because of religions). Gay marriages are legal here.

Gay marraige isn't illegal in the US.

Its just the government has yet to admit it has violated the consitution by trying to exert power on something it has no authority in. Everyone from most of congress to the Supreme Court is guilty of this. And yes the president and his boss the VP too.

icon_confused.gif I thought we already were a religion. I know that more than once when I've been in bed with a guy I've said:

    "OH MY GOD"

icon_lol.gif My partner frequently says it too...

icon_lol.gif And I can't tell you the number of gay guys I've seen praying on their knees... icon_wink.gif sometimes in places you wouldn't believe.

icon_twisted.gif As for religious vestments ... don't even get me started. icon_twisted.gif

    ---------------------------------------------------

BTW Priapus wasn't a Roman god, he was Greek.

In Greek mythology, Priapus (Ancient Greek: Πρίαπος) was a minor rustic fertility god, protector of livestock, fruit plants, gardens and male genitalia. His Roman equivalent was Mutinus Mutunus.

"Don't forget the Roman diety Priapus!"

Built my doctoral dissertation around the myth of Priapus. The ruins of a temple devoted to him are in Ephesus -- directly across from the library. The virtues are on the front of the library and they look across the plaza to Lord Priapus' temple. Can you imagine an image of the virtuous with its eyes turned toward the god of the giant cock in America?

There are also tiles in the roads marked with directions to Priapus' temple.

    http://templepriapus.org/

There once was a Temple of Priapus in San Francisco during the late 70's.

If we have a gay religion, can we make nudity a part of its practice? Then we who want could go naked!

Doesn't the US Capitol building face the Washington monument?

"Doesn't the US Capitol building face the Washington monument?"

True! But people aren't practicing sodomy inside the Washington Monument.

Woody, there is still a gay Priapus cult. I get mail from them occasionally.

Oh... and conveniently the Greek spelling is PriapOs. We of PriapOs oppose the filthy, disgusting, unnatural use of the penis to swab the tonsils. In the enlightened cult of PriapOs, we prefer the manly intimacy of ass fucking.

The US Capitol faces the opposite way from the Washington Monument. But the backside, with which you are probably most familiar, faces the WM...and the rest of the mall.

People arent practicing sodomy in the WM now cuz you cant walk up in it anymore. When I was a kid, one could walk up it...which of course as a kid, I had to do everytime we visited. (Inside, in the walls, there are carved stone blocks that were donated by states and organizations.)

Caslon, when you were a kid, did you see people practicing sodomy on the steps inside the Washington Monument?

Obscene, In the enlightened cult of PriapOs, with the manly intimacy of ass-fucking, are the enlightened naked?

Well...something that would finely get me back in church
and a new meanin to things like
    Passin 'round the basket...
    speaking in tongues...
    and taking of holy communion

Just think - a church that the Rev Ted Haggert wouldn't have had to leave

NUdewoody, no I didnt see anyone performing sodomy in the WM. I was just making the point that nobody is doing anything in there anymore because you cant get into it. They did close the stairway tho because of the untoward behavior of people in the stairway.

I am sorry Caslon, but I already am Divine. And sorry to say there are already too many people that worship me as it is. I could not possibly take on any more followers. But if anyone wants to come worship me in my temple, you are free to whenever you want.

For shits and giggles, we should have a confessional booth where the confessee just puts his palm out to the confessor's face and says "talk to the hand because the face don't wanna hear it. mm mmm mmmm now go the altar and take three hits of poppers for your penance!"

No, this idea is stupid (sorry), because it would make it (being gay, or in this case, being a devout "Gay") a choice, and this is the last thing gay people need as we have heterosexuals and many ignorant homosexuals who feel that way.
