With my phone you can assign a different ringtone to each contact. So I was having a conversation with a friend trying to figure out what his ringtone should be. We came up with a few different suggestions, but got me to thinking...

If you could pick a song or noise to play when you called someone else, what would it be ?

For example, I assigned my companies jingle to their number, so I know when they're calling and I can choose to 'screen' it icon_razz.gif

I think for mine, I like this song called Baya Baya by Safri Duo cause it's a nice calm kinda melody.

Let's see, I guess it's gotta be something with a distinctive first few seconds. So my choice would "If I Can't" by 50 Cent (the clean version, of course). icon_wink.gif

    LOL. Not really. icon_wink.gif

My ringtone is the standard ringing tone (ring ring ring!). I always mistake ringtone songs for background music and realize too late that it's my phone, so I gave up on that, it's not like most of them ever get to the chorus anyway unless you like to keep your callers waiting!

If I was into buying ringtones instead of using the standard rings that come with the phone, I would make mine "Call On Me" by Eric Prydz. I just discovered this song, and love it. Plus, it kind of works in the context of phone calls.

    "Saturdays" by Cut Copy.
This whole album was my constant summer hangout soundtrack last year, and I made a ringtone for my phone. It has a great electro-retro vibe that works good on a phone and is also perfect for those long sunny Texas days at the lake having a blast with friends.

Oh, I luv that song, I have it as a ring tone on my phone. You can download it free at http://www.zedge.net if that is available in the US. If u like 'Call on Me' check out 'Pjanoo' also by Eric Prydz.

For me pick 'I Kissed a Boy' the boyz version of Katie Perry's 'I Kissed a Girl'

I have the music from the movie Halloween as my main ring.
But when I call someone, I would like the song to be the theme to Jaws. Seems to fit.
    Cheers,

my problem is the sound quality of cell phone speakers.

what sounds awesome over a good quality home stereo can often sound like crapppppp as a cell phone ringtone.

for example: the theme from "will & grace" sounds awesome until u hear it as a ringtone...then it's just a bunch of hyper, jingly garbage.

"Arco Arena" by Cake - starts off nice and quiet, which is great for when you forget to put your phone on silent at university... but more importantly, unique enough to recognise in a busy public space. icon_biggrin.gif

Either Peter Griffin's ROCK LOBSTER that he sang for Cleveland (especially when he yelps Rock LOB-STAAAH at the very end- hahaha)

(Fox has removed all the real vid's but the song is still up!)

Or the noise of the Zelda Chests opening up. AWW AWW AHHHH!
