I just measured myself and put updated measurements and photos in my profile. I am very proud of some gains I have made. After almost 10 and half weeks of serious weight training with a trainer, I have increased my chest by 3 inches ( if I am measuring right.), increased my arms by 1 inch, decreased my waist by 1 inch. legs are maintaining. My front abs are down to about a 1 inch pinch. I am real excited by the gains I have made visible, observable gains and I am happy about it.

The major problem i am still having is my damn obliques/love handles. I am still at about a 3 inch size pinch and that has not decreased at all. I have started adding extra oblique sets to my workout. I watch what I eat.

Any other suggestions or is there something I am doing wrong?

sounds like a cardio vascular issue to me... how much cardio are you doing, and what kind? are you using interval training at all?

I do about CV about 3 times a week between 20 to 40 minutes. I also walk at lunch. I do interval training. My trainer usually adds it in the 4 week of doing a routine.

Give it a bit more time then. Your body is still adjusting. The changes you have made won't keep going as fast as they did at first. You also might want to point out to your trainer that you have noticed this.

Thanks for the info guys. I will probably increase the time I am on CV . I will also give myself more time for adjustment and mention it to my trainer. This helps. Just didnt know If I should be expecting more at this point. But at the same time, I keep hearing that obligues are a tough spot for guys.

ya....adjustment period....remember some gain is not all muscle...it's puff up stuff...and then you need to continue to have that real muscle gain.
muscle is alot of oxygen and blood.....when you let it go away...it will. i have very big leg muscles....and when i have atrophy....they tell me that it won't come back for awhile....but since it is there already (muscle), it comes back very fast....almost within one month.
    stick in there

don't exceed 50 minutes of cardio (40 is already pushing it). you'll go into anaerobic capacity, which no longer burns fat, and you will lose muscle. better to up the intensity during the 20-40 minutes than to add duration.
