    haha if you waited a week I would have meet you int he middle. Leaving from Cali to Texas next week. Drive the 40 its way better than the 10

    You're so right. On I-10 there's nothing at all to look at west of Kerrville TX. In particular, avoid stopping in Fort Stockton, TX. The motels (the only local industry) have their desk clerks sitting behind bulletproof glass.
