Chronic Sinusitis

I was wondering if anyone else here suffers from chronic sinusitis, meaning you get recurrent sinus infections, sort of one after another or they last for weeks at a time.

I've had severe environmental allergies since I was little, and all the doctors said they would get better as I got older, but the opposite has happened. I am currently sick with my 4th sinus infection this year.

I've tried a myriad of different therapies: sinus surgery, OTC and prescription drugs, sinus rinses, neti pots, breathing exercises, eating raw local honey, energy work, allergy shots, diet changes, etc. I don't smoke, I exercise, do yoga, eat well, I'm fairly positive-etc. I hate taking antibiotics but nothing else works, and I keep having to take stronger and stronger meds, which is a little scary. I am going to another ENT this week to see if they have any new ideas. I may just have to move, since I live in the allergy capital of the country. But that's not happening for at least a few years.

Im not necessarily asking for suggestions, but just wondering if anyone else here has had to deal with this condition. I just a need a sinus buddy or two!

Yoga Matt, check out this thread:
    http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/465047/

Huge thread, but....Here's an excerpt from a guy who also had chronic sinus issues. Might be helpful.

"I've had chronic sinus infections since I was a small child. I was on antibiotics 2-3x per year up until five years ago. It should come as no surprise that I have stomach issues as well. I've seen all sorts of "specialists" at very reputable hospitals: UCLA, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins. I've had more endoscopies and colonoscopies than most people have in a lifetime, not to mention CT scans, MRIs, etc.

I've been prescribed all manner of drugs for my issues. I've been diagnosed with IBS. For a while they thought I might have Crohns. I've been through a lot. And guess what, not one single doctor figured anything out. All they could do was run more tests and prescribe more pills.

Five years ago I said enough. I now see an MD who practices Chinese Medicine. I haven't taken an antibiotic in five years. I haven't had a sinus infection in five years. My gut has been healing and I my food sensitivities, etc. are greatly reduced. I've been on a healing diet for over a year now."
