Football Team Waterboarded To Make "Political Point" In Gay Pride Film

    excerpt:
"Gonick says the film is supposed to draw an analogy to the 'conformity' of the gay community."

I wondered how long it would take until someone decided to simulate waterboarding in a gay film. The athletes may not be truly waterboarded, but it does seem tasteless, despite their bare torsos being shown.

The clip on the link is safe for work, but is what is done appropriate, and does it accomplish what the filmmaker says he's trying to accomplish?

Maybe I'm slower than usual today, maybe the caffeine hasn't made it to my brain yet, but what was the point? I know there is supposed to be one in there somewhere.icon_confused.gif

Edit: Okay now I get it. The guy is wack job that thinks featuring LGBT military and police officers in Pride Parades is somehow fascist. He sounds like one of the anarchists psychos that got me tear gassed when they brought the WTO riot up to Capitol Hill when I lived in Seattle.

QUOTE AUTHOR GOES HEREGonick says the film is supposed to draw an analogy to the "conformity" of the gay community.

"It's about us and who we've become," he says. "We're willing to do anything to get the approval of the state."

I am SO sick and fucking tired of hearing this. It's a no win situation. Just being yourself isn't good enough. Either you're too gay or not gay enough. And heaven for fucking bid you don't fit into any of the cookie cutter gay categories - twink, bear, etc.

That stuff is seriously f***ed up... what joy are you supposed to get from abusing some random guy, in the name of "sexuality"?

    Makes me sick...

Looks like someone took an Intro to Queer Studies class and the fact that power and sex are related just blew his little too-good-for-youtube mind.

That's probably what the real point was. That and the fact that he wanted to get a bunch of hot men all wet in hazing way and call it waterboarding.

 I guess the "waterboarding" was the pretext for having them shirtless and all wet there

Shameless. Utter bullshit. Sincere probably, but so fucking idiotic.

Does anybody know where the border between good taste and media-pandering sensationalism crap is these days?
