This month there is a great article on the RealJock site about nuts. I would like to call your attention to another nut that is not mentioned in the article and that is the Argan from the tree Argania spinosa. The oil from this tree is high in monounsaturated fats and to a lesser degree polyunsaturated fats, both of which help to lower LDL (Lower Density Lipoprotein). It has also recently been proven to kill cancer cells on contact in the laboratory, although further tests on patients needs be done.

Because the tree only grows in the southwest of Morocco, it helps to supply a lot of work for people, especially the women of the area, who without this work are living on less than a dollar a day. The tree was being used for firewood and was in the process of disappearing until the recent interest in the oil. The tree has been put on UNESCO's list.

I get my oil from a Moroccan friend. I have no other connection to the oil production. I just wanted to pass this info onto you. If you are interested further you can read about it on the following site which has links to further info.
