    Hey Guys,
My partner and I are spending a couple weeks in CA driving from San Francisco to LA.Was wondering if anyone can suggest some activities or events that might be fun? Maybe less touristy?
    Thank!

I lived in the Santa Cruz mountains for 7 years. When are you going on your trip?

Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, Pebble Beach, Big Sur have tons of things going on. Wine country of Paso Robles is cool too. The May issue of Men's Journal featured Big Sur.

Did the Solvang thing a year ago. Early tour of Heast Castle in San Simeon, then wine tasted from there back to Paso Robles and around Solvang. Also did a nice bike ride around a loop of Solvang (more wine tasting ). Good day with an overnight stay or two for you.

Driving down the coast......if you have an appreciation for nature, make sure to go to Año Nuevo State Park. You take an easy hike though a meadow to the sand dunes, to the ocean where the elephant seals are....

I have always loved the experience of getting really close to wildlife....and it was a great experience to do with a friend/loved one.

    Bring a camera....... icon_smile.gif

    You can read about it....

    Sequoia National Park

I hope that you get a chance to see them. With the budget cuts, they may need to close them.

The local, free paper "The Metro" of Santa Cruz has lots of info about upcoming events in Santa Cruz and Monterey. http://www.metrosantacruz.com/ Try the link on the right "in the paper" and you'll see the articles online or http://www.metropdf.com/mz.html to download the edition. I would read this paper every weekend to see what's happening.
