Well as many of you know, Gregg ...Jockbod48, had to put down his beloved Chelsea recently. I certainly thought the tact and approach he took showed the love that he had for his dog... who he had befriended for 14 years.

Last night, ... a new addition. Some people in the area couldn't keep their
small 5 year old chow since they were moving from the area.. so Gregg now has a new addition. It reminds me so much of how I acquired my beagles.

Good for Gregg. Congrats and best wishes to both you and your new dog, "Walter".

Awww, thanks guys. Pics of Walter will be taken today! He is a good dog - 5 years old, blondish red. My black chow (Palmer) and I met him - he wagged his tale, licked my hand - and seemed to like us - so here we are. He sleeps beside my bed next to Palmer and is already making himself part of the family. I'm sure Chelsea would vote "yes" on making her former home here available to a new dog in need of a place he can now call "home." Walter looks enough like Chelsea that when people see us walking, some of them think Walter is Chelsea. It is great to be able to rescue a nice dog who is more than grateful..........I wish I could save every animal and make him feel safe and wanted. Pics coming later today!

So sorry to hear about Chelsea. But thanks for opening your home and your heart Gregg - rescued animals are the best. Can't wait to see the photos.

OK Gregg, dammit! Now here's two meninlove with lumps in their throats, full to brimming with admiration and respect for you. lol

What you just did is what we do as well. It honors Chelsea. It transmutes grief into love. You've just given Chelsea a little brother to keep her friend Palmer company since she's away.

(we're just loving this, and, we think, you)

Hey guys - thanks for all your kind words and thoughts. Here in my profile are a couple of brand new pics - one of Walter by himself and one of Walter and his new big brother Palmer - side by side - buddies for life now.

    Cheers!
