Tonight is the broadcast premier of "Ask Not!" Please be sure to tune in or set your DVR. Tell your friends!!

"ASK NOT exposes the tangled political battles that led to DADT and examines the societal shifts that have occurred since its 1993 passage. Since the law’s implementation, more than 12,000 personnel have been discharged including linguists and others whose skills are critical to military operations. In ASK NOT, current and veteran gay soldiers reveal how the policy has affected them during their tours of duty as they struggle to maintain a double life, uncertain of whom they can trust."

"It's time for ASK NOT's long-awaited broadcast premiere! The film that Newsweek is calling "compelling" and "startling" will blast onto 1 million+ TV screens on Tuesday June 16th at 10pm. Join us and be part of the mass experience!

Broadcast times vary in some areas, so check your local listings here: http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/asknot

Please spread the word to your friends and family! More viewers=more awareness=more social change."

The PBS stations in South Florida are airing it Tuesday night at 11 PM. Search for "Independent Lens" which is the series program actually doing the story "Ask Not."

Do you receive WMFE? But it's airing at 4 AM! You might want to ask their Programming Director why that time was selected for this show, is that normally where they slot "Independent Lens."

When I lived in North Dakota their PBS outlet did the same thing anytime a feature involving gay themes was being aired. It would be put on as late as they could after midnight, before the station went off the air for the day.

OK, did a little more research, seems PBS itself is doing 2 showings a day of "Don't Ask", the 4 AM time being the repeat. But WMFE in Orlando isn't airing the earlier one, just the 4 AM, so the question remains why?

In some markets, the show will air again on Thursday, June 18, and Monday, June 22, twice each day, at the same times as tonight. And perhaps at other dates & times elsewhere, so check your local listings, as they say.

Thanks, Vespa Rossa, that worked -- although our PBS station here isn't airing the Independent Lens program until 6/20 -- but at least I'll get it recorded.

Not only that.....the program IS NOT showing up on my tivo, or any programming guides that I know of. So even if it is on at 4 am (as it says on the show's website), the local guides are saying it is not.

We don't get such programming in Montana. Our PBS station, when it is on the air, shows agriculture news...

This is what I'm seeing online. Odd that PBS is wrong, but as I said above, I've run into local PBS stations before who refused to air gay material.

    WMFE-TV
    CHANNEL 24.1[D]
    Independent Lens: Ask Not
    Thursday, June 18, 4:00am
"Ask Not" explores the "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

Today on NPR's Fresh Air with Terry Gross
She had on Nathaniel Frank the author of Unfriendly Fire ... which is the historical prospective of the military's ban on gays

In the DC area, our PBS station is showing:

    Breaking the Bank

The role that super-size banks played in the economic collapse of 2008-09 is explored through the prism of Bank of America. Included: what went wrong; why the financial free fall was so sudden; the efforts to stabilize the banking industry.

Same here tonight with the Miami PBS station, a Front Line show, but it's immediately being followed by "Ask Not" on Independent Lens, so we're getting both on the same evening.

At least I HOPE we are. SILVERFOX1's difficulties with Orlando PBS makes me wonder.
