So, after 6 months of going hard and heavy with martial arts, which is the first time as an adult I've stuck with an exercise routine for this long, I pulled my hamstring last Wednesday. I've seen a doctor and am getting some physical therapy, but mostly I need to a) live with the pain and b) rest it enough to let is heal. I'm feeling better today, even having some periods of minimal pain.

My fear is that I'll get out of the rhythm of working out and/or get hurt again. (The pain was excruciating for first 2-3 days). Since I'm new to this, I'd be grateful to hear from those of you who have had injuries. In particular, how did you deal with not being able to work out and how did you get back in without getting hurt again?

Any advice or war stories are welcome.
