Cell Phone Mysteries

One night I was scrolling through my cell phone contact list.

Within a few minutes I fumbled upon at least 15 mystery contacts, most with the same first name and NO MEMORY of these guys.

Should I call/txt and ask? Or delete, no questions asked?

    What gives?

Also, how long do you wait until you delete friends' numbers who never keep in touch with you? 30 days?

    Interesting question.....

I usually keep friends names for a year (without contact). I have friends I only see occasionally, so it makes sense.

As far as the unknown contacts, I'd delete them from consideration, unless there is a reason.

Well there's lots of room on my cellular since I just got it so I don't bother deleting them.
Text them, if you are interested. No harm in checking.

I keep them in my phone, so if they ever txt or call, they have a name matched... Nothing worse than not knowing who the # belongs to!

Yeah yeah yeah....we have all been there before. There are some guys that you just kind of "erase" from your mind. "What was I thinking? There is NO WAY I could have ______ with THAT guy." Just easier to forget......

First, rule out the obvious: do you get drunk a lot and not remember things? If so, don't worry about the extra contacts, leave them or delete them as you will. Worry more about the blackouts.

If it's not that, call your service provider and ask them about it. If your contacts are backed up, yours may be getting mixed in with someone else's.

A more insidious possibility: someone may be tapping into your account. Check your bill to see if there are calls to these numbers, or collect calls by them being charged to you.
