Republicans - Immigration In An Economic Downturn

    Normally when the economy turns sour, the Republicans tend to scream and yell about illegal immigrants. During this most recent downturn, I have not really heard them make it such a big issue this year.

    So are Republicans not bringing it up this time because the tide is turning on power and numbers of people in the US? Or has the immigrant issue been solved for them?

    However, I hear in Europe, that conservative parties are winning all of the recent elections becuase of the anger building against immigrants during this economic downturn.

    There has been some xenophobic comments against illegal immigrants, but not as much as the last 2 years. Remember the tea bag party? Texas especially was shouting on some of that.
