OMG.... "Thank you for the music" is probably my favorite and as I opened this thread, I thought, "nobody will have that one"... and then to have it as the opening favorite... interesting.

There are others, besides those that you would expect...

    "Money, Money, Money"... ranks....

    one of us
    our last summer
    on and on
when all is said and done
like an agel passin though my room
    The day before you came
    people need love
    Hasta Manhana
    so long
    I've been waiting for you
    thats me
    Knowing me knowing you
    my love my life
    the name of the game
    take a chance on me
    does your mother know
    Gimme, gimme, gimme
    I've been waiting for you.
thank you for the music, and I do.

    Just to name a few.

I don't really like ABBA, but if I had to pick one, it would be I Have A Dream. It makes me smile. Mostly because I hear "I'll cross the stream" and I think of Ghostbusters.

I love Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight). I was so happy Madonna sampled it in Hung Up. 'Fernando' has haunted me since sixth grade as Fernando is my name. I can still hear my sixth grade math teacher singing it in my head like he did EVERYDAY! icon_lol.gif

Mine is Chiquitita, because of the lyrics.

Take a Chance on Me for both of us and Name of the Game

    Chiquitita, tell me whats wrong
Youre enchained by your own sorrow
In your eyes there is no hope for tomorrow
How I hate to see you like this
There is no way you can deny it
I can see that youre oh so sad, so quiet

    Chiquitita, tell me the truth
Im a shoulder you can cry on
Your best friend, Im the one you must rely on
You were always sure of yourself
Now I see youve broken a feather
I hope we can patch it up together

    Chiquitita, you and I know
How the heartaches come and they go and the scars theyre leaving
Youll be dancing once again and the pain will end
You will have no time for grieving
    Chiquitita, you and I cry
But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you
Let me hear you sing once more like you did before
    Sing a new song, chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
    Sing a new song, chiquitita

So the walls came tumbling down
And your loves a blown out candle
All is gone and it seems too hard to handle
    Chiquitita, tell me the truth
There is no way you can deny it
I see that youre oh so sad, so quiet

    Chiquitita, you and I know
How the heartaches come and they go and the scars theyre leaving
Youll be dancing once again and the pain will end
You will have no time for grieving
    Chiquitita, you and I cry
But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you
Let me hear you sing once more like you did before
    Sing a new song, chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
    Sing a new song, chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
    Sing a new song, chiquitita

...and this one is in Spanish, for our own Lostboy, who we have a great fondness for.

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
    I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
    I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
Ill cross the stream - I have a dream

    I have a dream, a fantasy
    To help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness still another mile
    I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
    I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
Ill cross the stream - I have a dream
Ill cross the stream - I have a dream

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
    I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
    I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
Ill cross the stream - I have a dream
Ill cross the stream - I have a dream

I am a HUGE Abba fan and I like it all but to choose my top three would be Just Like That, The Day Before You Came and SOS. All these songs reflect emotions I have from time to time. Funny how songs can do that, eh?icon_biggrin.gif

Does anyone else get teary-eyed when they hear "without a song or a dance what are we?"

It kills me every time . . .

As long as we're talking ABBA, maybe someone here can help me out. One of my favorite ABBA songs is "Dancing Queen," but the disco version they used in one episode of "Queer as Folk". I have looked for it over the years and I can't locate it anywhere. I even have looked at disco CD's of ABBA, but it's not the one from the show.
