I'll be working with LANES swim team to help start up a gay water polo group in Boston soon. Hoping to start regular practices after the New Year, and a get a team ready for IGLA in DC, June 2008.

Beginners and Veterans all welcome. Drop me a line if you're interested.

That's really cool. Best of luck getting a team together. (Unfortunately I'm not a great swimmer although I was planning on checking out LANES after the Holidays to 'force' me to practice more.) I'll bug some of my friends. Hope that you get a team pulled together...

It's happening, starting Jan 20. Sunday mornings, 10am at Northeastern, I'll be coaching a water polo group with LANES.

It may not be on the website yet, but until you hear otherwise, trust that there will be polo workouts during the Sunday practices.

3 Months later, and we're really starting to pick up.

If you've been on the fence, and are in Boston, come, Sunday morning!

Chicken just likes getting tackled on the rugby pitch - scared of getting dunked in the pool ;)

the team is coming along... last two practices had 14 and 10 people in the water. Some who've played before, some who haven't.

We're trying to arrange a scrimmage down in NYC in the next month or so, and may just have enough people to send a team to IGLA in June.

Not too late to start - come check it out or tell your friends.

WEHO kids is too fast this year. and we are all out of shape. especially me and chris too much coach and less swimming. icon_redface.gif

I've never played water polo but very interested! Never a competitive swimmer but triathlete. Longest swim in a race so far is 1.2 miles so I think I have a good start at the endurance. Are there a lot of beginners playing?

The team's still going and always looking for new players. We have weekly practices at MIT now, most Sunday evenings, but may switch to Friday nights for the summer (May - September).
