What protein drink do you use?

Right now I'm using Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein. It tastes pretty good and it's light on my pocket, but I haven't tried other protein products to compare them effectively.

So, what protein do you drink, and how is it working for you?
If you ever drank Gold Standard 100% Whey before, how did it do for you and why did you change?

That's the one I have.

When I started making protein shakes late last year, I was trying to have them contain at least 1,000 calories because I wanted to consume 4,000 calories per day to help gain weight. But I ended up going to the bathroom a lot, so I stopped.

I'm starting another attempt to gain weight, but I'm not setting the bar so high this time. I'd like to get there, but I need to get my body used to eating. So for right now, I have 2 protein shakes a day that contain whole milk, whey protein, vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and peanut butter. And that's in addition to the three meals. I don't want to use the shakes as replacements for either one of the meals.

I will change the ingredients of my protein shakes later this year as I gather more information. I would like something healthier with a lot of calories.

I don't drink whey protein since my liver began to react negatively to too much protein intake.

I just try to get natural protein in my body if possible, but that's really hard to do if you don't have much time during the day... I have felt a lot more energized since then too!

I really like DESSERT by BSN. If you mix the Vanilla with half the water and some ice... it makes a vanilla shake. This is the best vanilla flavor I have found yet!

I'm a big fan of "Nectar" protein. It tastes yummy and mixes up with a spoon.

We also buy TEN pound buckets of American Sports Nutrition American Whey (which is a great value and 0 fat, $60), but, I like Nectar the very best.

Isopure used to be a favorite, but, for me, it has a bit to much sodium. Nectar doesn't and it helps me stay dry and tight.

If you're on a high protein diet, without much carbs, you want to make sure get enough water, get some fiber supplement like Metamucil, or a generic, and wash yourself out with an enema if you start getting to dry (bodybuilding's dirty little secret).

Protein powders, and chicken, chicken, chicken, can really dry you out if you're training hard, too.

Without protein, and adequate carbs, you're gonna' end up looking like a starving model at 5'8", 145#.

From where come from, I think I think it's silly to train hard just to look like you came from a third world country.

Don't forget to eat.

I like the store brand at Vitamin Shoppe. Its made with splenda so I dont need to add any ice cream or suger to make it not taste like chalk, and with some Ice and water it does a good job tasting like a McDonalds shake. I like the chocolate one.

As a rule, you can save up to about 30% by using mail order, over a retailer.

No point in using a brick and mortar store unless you're in a rush, or paying extra.

The Optimum Nutrition is nice and cheap, but it is Whey protein concentrate, which is not nearly as effective as isolate.

I just found NOW brand whey protein Isolate in a ten pound back for $80 with shipping from AllStarHealth. I got it a few days ago. It tastes great, mixes like a champ, and is a definite upgrade from the concentrate.

Where do you purchase it on line Chucky? Can you supply a link? I did a google search and the site I clicked on brought up 5 different marketing windows, so I want to make sure I'm looking at an honest place.

Few months I've been using Isopure, which I really love. Now I'm drinking Isomass. It doesnt taste better than Isopure but the results are faster.

Ive tried many. I recently tried Muscle Milk. It made me feel fat and bloated. I went back to my old standby of GNC Wheybolic Exteme 60. My torso pics are from this past winter. Comparing them with my face pics (last summer) you will see I gained almost 20lbs of good weight. Last summer I was at 183 or so in that pic, with 16% bf. Now, after some dieting, Im 190ish, with 14% body fat. Net results are 2% lower bf and 7lbs of muscle.

And besides... the manager of my local GNC... Hot HOT HOT!!!!!!!
He recomended it. Id do most anything he told me I think

Product is good too

Am i missing something? Results are great, and price is competative. Is it because its like a "store brand", or do you have some scientific data or experience that would pursuade me to move on to another brand?

hahaha

Your stuff:
http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3509954
$13.33/lb IF you have a GNC gold card, 16.66/lb if not

My stuff:
http://www.massnutrition.com/products.cfm?cur_man=OPTIMUM%20NUTRITION&item=OP087
$7.99/lb. If you buy the 10lb it's $7.70./lb

Sorry bro, but anyone who thinks GNC is a deal just plain hasn't done enough looking around.

GNC is over-the-top pricey.

You can cut your costs by 25% to 35% online.

Gourmet Gainer for my mass building post-workout or throughout the day shake.

High 5 for just before bed since its a mix of fast and SLOW burning protein.

During the day I'll mix up the two by adding an extra scoop of the High 5 to the Gainer.

Both are at a store called Max Muscle

I don't take extra proteins, just my regular diet (which is somewhat high in protein, because I usually feel a need to).
But I don't take above that.

I'm not sure extra proteins are really necessary...
All the proteins necessary to build the muscle weight you can gain in a week, can be found in just 1 extra hamburger or so.

But the protein shakes ARE required --
-- for the share holders, of course.

:-)
