I always have thought this video is pretty funny... cut from a number of pieces and spliced together. I always wanted a real meeting.. it would have been so awesome.

My bf's comment: How stupid.... LOL

A real meeting between Trek and Star Wars? No thank you. They're two different. And, yeah, this was a bad edit job.

Dumb. Their respective tech is based on completely different technobabble. Anyone who knows anything about either franchise's fictional technology would be nauseated at the thought of mixing the two in a ship to ship battle. They could have at least tried to make it funny or something.

OMG!!! You guys are taking this way too serious! I found it halarious!!! LOL Of course the two are very different, that's the humor in it.I hardly doubt the creators of the vid set out to be serious with it.

Anyway, as a fan of both, I loved the vid. A meeting between the two is impossible as Star Trek is in the Alpha quad of the Milky Way and Star Wars is in a galaxy far far away... LOL

RowBuddy saidStar Trek is based in our own reality, in our own future. Star Wars is based in our own universe, in a galaxy far, far away, and LONG time ago.

Star Wars is more "Fantasy" (ummmm "the force?") Star Trek is "Science Fiction" or fiction based on science (the use of antimatter and matter as a power source for warp drive)

I like both, but I like the hopeful future Star Trek gave me as a kid where anyone, dorks, geeks, gay, ugly etc could be taken seriously and a part of something like Starfleet.

Good points. Lucas failed miserably when it came to actually putting any sort of science into the franchise. He thinks a parsec is a unit of time measurement rather than distance. Though there is no end of fan fiction trying to defend Lucas' intelligence. Yeah, the Kessel run was really a cosmic obstacle course and Solo was able to shorten the distance traveled by very clever use of various stellar phenomena. Then he ruined everything by trying to come up with technobabble to explain the force. Midichlorians? Really? He should have left that one alone.icon_lol.gif

I seem to recall that Mad Magazine did that, back in the 70's

Great post metta8... I've waited so long to see a scene like that in Star Trek! Whoever made that clip went to a lot of trouble to replicate the appearance of a stateroom from the original series.

As a big fan of both franchises, I found this a bit funny and silly but cute none the less.
