K, so I've got a question for you all.

I live in a moderate-sized city with 2 universities a college. I've been to about every bar here, and don't particularly like any of them as they all kinda..well, the gay bar pretty much sucks, and the straight bars are full of idiots I can't be bothered to deal with (I graduated high school years ago people). I do, however, LOVE to dance - I love just giving myself up to the moment...it's an amazing feeling.
My problem is that I sweat like there's no tomorrow when I'm active - like, buckets. And now that I've quit smoking I'm not going outside, cooling off, then starting it all over again - I just keep dancing until they take away the music.
But I sweat so much it soaks through my shirt - and I mean soaks. Like, looks like I had my own little hurricane.
Ultimately, I know there's nothing I can do about it (other than to stop dancing) but I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem, and if so how do you take care of it?
I'm starting to consider going to Toronto to a few clubs there because we don't have any trance clubs here in the Waterloo, but I don't want to be flinging sweat on everyone around me. I suppose that's a bit uncouth. It's not like I'm looking to hookup with someone (I'm actually really NOT looking for a hookup in the slightest) but at the same time, I don't want to be the guy that everyone bitches about.
Maybe I'm too concerned about what others are thinking, but *shrugs* a little concern for others is allowed I think.

Go to a gay club and get rid of the shirt. Most dudes in gay clubs dance without shirts anyway- so you can sweat all you want. You might want to bring one of those workout towels though.

there's a lot of sportswear fabrics that wick away sweat from skin so u stay drier and cooler, maybe you can find a nice going out shirt that has those properties. natural fibres breathe and adsorb better than synthetics/blends.

i just did a search of something i was thinking of....there's a fabric called coolmax (r) that does just that, if you can't find clothes that are made of it, maybe try and find a fabric store that stocks it and get a tailor to make one for you.

is it only the sweat that bothers you? if you smell as well, ive used this thing called an alum crystal (sp?) that's a natural rock crystal deodorant that helps prevent bacteria from forming on the skin and is scentless and stainless and a small piece lasts for months (a US$4 piece has lasted me over a year using it everyday as a deodorant and aftershave and it's not even half gone). many old style barber shops use it as aftershave as well. probably find it at chemists or new age shops.
ive even heard of fabrics that release scents too. good luck!

Yes, once I start dancing, I start sweating... I'd be curious if anyone could suggest particular fabrics or brands that would be suitable for a night out...

Been there icon_neutral.gif Stranded at 2 am, absolutely SOAKING wet, starving and dehydrated. And I mean, soaking. And of course freezing because I'm outside soaking wet.
