For once, a US judge doesn't let a rich crook get off easy. Of course Madoff will appeal, we will see how this goes, if another higher court will be easier.

His appeal shouldn't go anywhere. Glad to see the bastard get his.
No wonder investment representatives have so much legal and compliance
responsibilities... its because of an SOB like this bastard.

Ah ha! But Madoff is a vampire. In 150 years he will walk right out of jail and reclaim his undead financial empire.

Does it take the undead to know the undead? icon_wink.gif

he whole family was in on it as well as others.

I really think each and over one of them should loss everything. I mean everything. No money, homes, clothes, bank accounts, rings etc etc etc. They should be left w/ only one set of clothes and shoes and a map of how to find shelter and food banks. Also should be banned from holding any job involved w/ money.

Madoff's wife is trying to salvage what she can. We'll see in the months ahead how much she and other family members manage to preserve. I suspect it will be considerable, since Madoff started hiding assets quite a while ago. It will be tucked away in numerous foreign holdings, that will take years for the US to uncover.

Madoff's family will never be hurting, as the mega-rich never are. Others will be destitute, but Madoff's family will thrive. No doubt on less than what they had, but lavish by ordinary standards nonetheless. Super-rich people rarely suffer.

While I know that his wife at least should have been on the dockets along with her husband
But what about all the people he employed? ..... all the people who made millions and maybe billions along side of him for the last 30 years?

It's ridiculous that this man is going to prison alone without anyone standing next to him
