I found his voice and carnival barker delivery totally annoying, and I always either muted the TV or switched the channel. He never once sold anything I remotely wanted or needed.

But... he was an American original, and evidently a hard-working & sincere guy, who made tons of money for those products, and hopefully for himself, to leave to his widow and 2 kids. He made himself a celebrity and great success by sheer force of his personality & determination, and that's always been an admirable American trait, even if I often wished it wasn't on the TV channel I'd happen to be watching.

    My condolences to his family.

His barking made every product seem fraudulent to me.

no really accept maybe his family and friends. He really wasn't that big of a personality. It's sad that he died of heart problems. May he rest in peace.
But he was not Ed or Farrah or Michael.icon_cry.gif

He is seated at the right hand of the father, with Mr. Whipple on the left.
