I don't even know if she writes her own lyrics or has writers working for her, but either way, I imagine after "Before He Cheats" exploded, she realized that "angry independent woman" songs are where the money is aticon_cool.gif

Who is she? Should we care? Does it matter?

    *edit

I looked into it. She's a performer, namely from American Idol. Who gives a rat's ass?

So, no, we shouldn't care, and, no, it doesn't matter.

Actually she is a very good singer and that she won AI should not diminish the fact that she is talented. She has a good voice, she is not embroiled in all the drama and turmoil that "celebs" these days seem to be into (Lohan for instance).

Nah, I don't watch that much television at all. I have the old collection of SNL on DVD that I watch on occasion, but I've not watched any live SNL since I was a child.

In regards to Underwood, I'm sure she has a voice, and probably some talent beyond that (shame that she doesn't write much of her own music, but that's a standard in today's music biz, and not something that will ever change). I only care about entertainers when they do something that makes a difference in the world. I'm not talking about Bono-style charity work, where your ego drives your passion, or donating time and money to charity for the tax write-offs. I'm talking about really making a difference, and you just don't see that, anymore.

Wow! What rock have YOU been living under? Carrie Underwood isn't just an American Idol, she's one of the biggest country stars there is right now, and the American Idol who has sold more albums than any other -- like over 10 million and counting.

True. I personally don't pay attn to that though. They're there to entertain me and that's what I take it as, entertainment. Lots of ppl do get fixated in "celebs" personal lives and stuff, which I find silly.

Apparently, a very large rock. In my defense, I never liked pop or modern country music*

American Idol ... nope, I don't get it, and I gave up trying back in season one. Same as Real World or any of those reality shows.

    * disclaimer: this does not include old school country like J. Cash, Dolly, K. Rogers, C. Twitty

I'm ALL down for a good laugh, a lame thread and all, but this IS a stretch.... Carrie Underwood a male-basher??? That's like asking Who Thinks Janet Jackson is a Male Basher with songs like "What Have You Done For Me Lately?", "Pleasure Principle", "All Night"......
