Does anyone agree what having sex is?

This topic came up in a previous RJ thread, about whether it was sex if it didn't include anal. This linked article below doesn't specifically address it from a gay aspect, but does reinforce what some of our thread posts suggested, that the definition of what constitutes having sex is very vague and not universal.

if ur dick is hard and getting attention even if only by your own hand, it's sex.

if not... then that is the definition of "bored" icon_wink.gif

    I politely disagree...

As someone said in the other thread, more or less: if there is genital stimulation, and more so if there is orgasm, by direct contact even if just manual or oral, it is sex.

On the other hand, see it this way: once I read, in a gay magazine no less, that:

"the idea that sex was solely about putting protuberances inside orifices was horribly limited".

    Mmmmmh...

Sex to me is an orgasm.

A really big orgasm is great sex.

Sex is when someone's genitals meet someone else's genitals in order to produce joy..
Since the rectum isn't a gental then having gay sex isn't sex at all ! wohoooo.. Now it's religeosly legal.

(don't take it seriously.. I'm bored)

Sex is fucking a hole. Whether that hole be an ass, a vag, a mouth, a fist, or the neat little sex taco when you fuck tits, armpits, ass cheeks, or whatever.

This problem seems rooted in religion. There is reproductive sex, there is onanism, and there is sodomy. Really, it is all sex.

To me, what sex really is is the highest form of affection towards a person. But nowadays sex is more about lust than affection.

Sex is something that if you do it with someone else, your partner might get really pissed off at you.

According to Seattle & King Co. Public Health, where I work doing HIV/STI testing and counseling, sex is defined [in paraphrase] as any act of genital stimulation involving mouth to genitals or penile insertion into the anus or vagina. Strictly speaking, masturbation doesn't really count as sex as such however fellatio, cunnilingus, anal and vaginal intercourse do.

Well, if masturbation isn't sex, you're doing it wrong.

I use this all the time to define sex. Shere Hite, “I'm suggesting we call sex something else, and it should include everything from kissing to sitting close together.”

Does anyone agree what having sex is? ...that the definition of what constitutes having sex is very vague and not universal.

Sex is any type of activity that is done with the intention of creating sexual arousal and gratification.

It seems pretty straightforward, I think what people get confused about is how a particular act of sex should be treated, judged, or viewed as.

If we went with that I'd be having sex all over the place!

Does that make everything from SARS and the Swine Flu to the common cold and poison ivy an STD?
