Dr Kessler is a very bright guy and has written an excellent book on how the "Industrial Food Complex" in the US has used an excellent grasp of behavioral psychology, chemistry and marketing to addict many people to poor diets and chronic overeating.

I saw him interviewed on a TV program lately (maybe the NewsHour?) and so much of what he said made a lot of common sense and jives with my experience. When I travel outside of my own little bubble of northern California/Berkeley and don't have control over where I shop or eat, it is extraordinarily difficult to eat healthily and well--you can do it but the whole system of commercial food provision and cultural attitudes is set up to go in the opposite direction. Thanks for posting the link, next book in my list concerning food production and distribution here in the US (Fast Food Nation, Michael Pollan, etc.)
