"What makes Operation Khanjar different from those that have occurred before is the massive size of the force introduced, the speed at which it will insert, and the fact that where we go we will stay, and where we stay, we will hold, build and work toward transition of all security responsibilities to Afghan forces," said Brigadier General Larry Nicholson, the Marine Commander, in a statement.
That sounds like an actual and well thought out plan. Now, we just need to see how it plays out. It's one thing to start an operation, and another to carry it out in it's entirety. A plan like this, transition to full self-reliance, is definitely something that should have been introduced years ago. And if there was, I didn't know about it, lol.
