hmmm....well in Quebec, "hostie" is one of the worst curse words you could use, along with "tabernack" and "calice"

(oh...i should wash out my mouth now)

As much as I love watching him squirm over this the Catholic Priest gave it to him and the church has already essentially shrugged and said 'whatever'. Worse has happened to the wafers I'm sure.

I'd be more worried about his gross lack of concern for the environment, and his government's financial support for the Alberta tar sands at the expense of alternative energy funding.

Then again, it doesn't seem like the recent G8 meeting in Italy amounted to much commitment from ANY leaders on effectively addressing the climate change dilemma. icon_sad.gif

Oh boy. How does the Federal Govt support anything in Alberta? We have paid transfer payments to the rest of Canada for the last 50+yrs. Don't let the left wing liberal media control everything you believe.

I'd have thought that the Catholics had bigger problems than this.

Just for the record as a vilified non-Catholic at a Catholic school, I only got to eat the host when my devout friends stole them for me. I'd recommend BBQ chips instead.

Breaking bread and Drinking of the Wine (wafer & grape juice...aka. broken body and spilled blood of Christ) is Communion in the Christian Faith. We remember his sacrifice for our eternal lives by this tradition. He taught us to do this and intern we remember him. I think it's beautiful and peaceful.

We are not to partake in the consumption of either if we do not believe in Christ or if we are defiant and/or rebellious in our spirit or lifestyle. (basically not living/or trying to live the life Jesus wanted us to live: love, forgiveness, honesty, etc.).

There have been MANY times in my life where I felt, as communion was being passed, that I should not partake in consumption, and its perfectly natural. You just do not partake and instead work on what sin or troubles you are involved in so that later you can commit to communion with the lord.

I'm confused by 2 things however in this video.

    1) Why is this national news in my country and why do people care? WE HAVE BIGGER THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT....*cough economy cough* and therefore I don't get the point of this post either. Is he a bad prime minister because he doesn't want communion? Again- Who cares.........That's between him/god/his beliefs. Leave the man be in his personal life. Worry about his political views.

    2) Why is my Prime Minister even reaching his hand out for the bread to later not even want it. That is odd and has nothing to do with religion.

WHAT WE NEED TO DO AS CANADIANS IS WONDER WHY THIS IS STILL HAPPENING IN OUR COUNTRY IN 2009 INSTEAD!!!!!! This pisses me off soooo much- I want to fight the 3 myself!

Yeah, "I'll have the 'Body of Christ' to go." What WAS he thinking? Has he never had a Communion wafer before in his life, Catholic or Protestant?

Therein lies the conundrum, Sedative, because by filming it he has irrefutable proof. Calling the police would have worked, too, in breaking it up, but not in securing evidence.

What we wondered was why no one else called police when it started. It was outside a McDonald's for Pete's sake; where was the store manager?

This caused a huge furor here, and those young men will likely want to move...
