Anyone seen Brüno yet? Gonna check it out tonight. Seems to be getting pretty good reviews. Anticipating an extremely vulgar movie

I saw it last night. It was ok. Funny for about 20-30 min out of 90. The rest was just kind of boring. The Bruno sketches on The Ali G Show were just as funny as the movie and pretty much the same thing.
It was a bit vulgar, but if you've seen Borat then you know what to expect.

The few promos I have seen seem pretty puerile. They havent made me want to see the movie at all.

I saw it and it wasn't great, there were a few really funny moments but the rest was either boring or dumb.

very disappointing

I have no desire to see this movie. Borat was very tasteless, and I believe this one will be, too.

Roger Ebert on Bruno "A film that is 82 minutes long and doesn’t contain 30 boring seconds" http://bit.ly/18RlQJ

The reviews have been pretty divided (I think it's at 69% on Rotten Tomatoes) but I don't think I want to see it. It seems like a film people react strongly to. You either LOVE it or hate it with a passion. I'm pretty sure I'd hate it.

no interest in Bruno, didn't have any in Borat either.

I liked Borat, hopefully Bruno wont disappoint

There were definitely some funny parts in Borat but I was a little put off with the whole Pam Anderson bit. I didn't like how a lot of the segments were clearly staged.

I like the show much better than Borat because of how the segments are real reactions from real people. I like the dinner party segment in Borat because (I believe) it was real. Hopefully Bruno keeps it real and doesn't stage some fake segments to get a celeb a cameo.

Some of that "tasteless" humor, however, is social satire....which SP, Borat and Bruno are......

I want to look forward to this movie because I love the character but I have to admit the commercials make it look pretty underwhelming.

I saw the movie tonight and thought it was absolutely hilarious. I think it's great to push the envelope and can't think of a single movie I've laughed so hard at since I was a kid.

Funny shit, definitely think there was more scripted parts than borat but they were still halarious. Cohen was really over the top but with satire it's supposed to be so well worth the time and money to see it. If you liked borat you'll like this movie

After seeing it, all I can say is that man has some serious balls. He really puts himself out there and must be ready to get his ass kicked at all times...

Wasn't the best movie I've ever seen but I did enjoy it for what it was. Definitely some "oh my god" moments in there.
Jul 11, 2009 5:11 AM GMT

I just read a Tweet where a woman said she left because of all the "cock and balls! The movie had cocks and balls everywhere!! ". Did it really have nudity? I wouldn't expect a major US studio to release a film that showed something as offensive as penises. American audiences can't handle penises

Saw it tonight. It was puerile, shocking, and outrageously funny. The audience of the theater I was at consisted almost entirely of college-aged students. It was a great atmosphere for laughs, and my friends and I had a great time.

Edit: @ UofTLatinBoy: Yes, there was nudity. And more.

don't forget the talking urethra

I watched it lastnight.. was bloody hysterical

I ended up in tears at some point..

unfortunately it doesn't portray some Americans in a nice light..
Jul 11, 2009 11:49 PM GMT
Since when has Sasha BC ever portrayed Americans in a positive light?

His satire is wildly appreciated, great movie for a solid laugh.

Yes it's vulgar. Yes it can be predictable. But regardless, worth watching for a little relief.
Jul 11, 2009 11:58 PM GMT
I awaiting to see it with some anticipation, but not sure if I'll see it on the big screen, and on DVD? But I'm sure, I'll see it with light hearted fun.

I'm sure those who live in Inner City gay ghettos, Bruno is an everyday advent, walking the streets, and some just don't have the ability to laugh at themselves. But will laugh when Ms Palin's family is being attacked; ?

But I do wait with anticipation to see it; just for a laugh.

But whats make it so funny, is it's real. The reaction is real, and if they only knew it was a set up, the reaction would be so diffrent; scripted..

Screw Bruno, I'm waiting for Harry Potter to come out!!!!!

But to answer the original post, I don't think I"ll be seeing this. I'm not really a fan of Cohen and his humour, which, I think, leans on the side of "stupid" comedy instead of clever comedy (ie. Meet the Parents).

Well, I like to think I have good taste,,, but this film proved to be a really great time! Of course it was tasteless throughout, but I laughed till I cried a few times along the way and at least had a smile on my face the whole movie...
I even found myself laughing a bit on the way back to the car. I rate it 5 Black Dildos!

My exact thoughts and reactions

I loved the bits when they went to the deep south and caught reactions there. The swingers party, hunting with the Sex and the City boys, and of course the cage match. It almost reminded me of the "Right America, Feeling Wronged" documentary.

Just watched it tonight and seriously it was AWESOME, don't regret a second I spent at the theater. that film was hilarious since the first minute till the end. The whole audience was laughing their asses off every time.

Some guys here seem not to be into it but Thats like everything we all Will never agree on ANYTHING since we all have our own preferences but talking for myself and for all of those at The movie theater tonight i can tell you guys it was hilarious.

ps: tickets are still really hard to get here in Montreal they were always sold out for every single play!!!!!

I saw it this evening wth friends in a packed cinema and I thought it was hilarious. A lot of it made me squirm but there was no doubt that it was hysterically funny. Sacha Baron Cohen is a comedy genius. I'm not sure how much middle America will be able to take of gay sex, dildos and fight-club satire.

The swingers party scene is raw.
