So this afternoon I was playing hockey and got taken out by the opposition. A trip to the hospital tells me I have torn some ligaments in my ankle.

This is my first sport injury. Im so proud.

What injuries have you sustained playing sport?

Congrats on your first!!! Just kidding! I hope your ankle heals quickly!

I have had many many ankle sprains, too many to try to count!

I broke my left foot playing basketball.

I broke my 4th toe on my right foot playing baseball.

I had a multiple break in my right wrist playing football.

I sprained my right knee playing wallyball.

I had pulled my left hamstring playing softball!!

I have had many dislocated fingers playing most of the sports.

I was beaned in my left eye when I was a kid playing baseball. My ENT doctor found damage in my nasal passages when I had an unrelated surgery in that area years later! The funny part of this story is that I had to be interviewed at school by a counselor because they thought it might have been a child abuse issue!! I guess they did not believe the 20 some witnesses who were there when it happened!!

You would think that after so many injuries that I would finally get the hint and take it easy, but I am addicted to competition I guess!!
(plus, there are so many hot ER doctors out there!!!).

Broke my wrist when I won my 1st out of college tennis tournament. I was so pumped I ran up to the net and jumped over, but my foot caught the net, down I went without letting go of the racket and the right wrist cracked. Can still play ok these days, but that was the end of my road to tennis fame....haha.

I tore my left ACL apart snow skiing a few years ago. It's fixed now and stronger than ever but I'm always afraid that cadaver ligament will fail one day while I'm doing leg presses...ha.

I've had my nose broken twice, ribs broken, fingers broken, dislocated shoulder, sprained ankle, sprained knee, and many cuts and scrapes, even cauliflower ear. My sons call em "warrior scars" haha

Take care of that ankle man, they don't heal fast.

Lets see injuries.

Mulitple ankle sprains on both ankles from playing basketball.

Torn MCL and Medial Meniscus in my right knee from football.

Radial Fracture on my left arm from a bad bike crash, also had a seperated shoulder in that accident.

And those are just the big ones. Multiple jammed fingers, pulled strained muscles as well.

Either I'm injury prone or ust a little too active.

I was running a 12k last week. I end up last and quit at 8k. The reason....my running shoes are all worn out and I have a bruise on my feet.

I gonna run the Olympia Run with Ronald McDonald tommorrow (7k). I got a new shoes, season it with my morning training. I should be alright.

tennis -- recent knee injury

Torn cartilage in my left knee, while jogging in formation during Army PT. We'd run over grass and rough terrain, and I didn't see the uneven ground ahead and stepped funny. But my knee was already weakened from years of pounding in Army boots. Required knee surgery to remove the torn cartilage, a meniscectomy. I get a 10% VA rating for it today, in addition to others.

Then one time when doing Army pushups for a PT test, my back just went "crack" and so began years of lower back pain, which continues to get worse. Have had several surgical procedures, and I have a 20% VA rating on that, which I expect should be increased soon.

Oh, and got tendonitis of the right wrist from playing tennis competitively as a teenager, very persistent and ended my tennis playing until my 20s.

Running the 1600 in a meet junior year of high school, I was edged off the track by another runner going into the curve of the second lap. Ended up cracking my ankle...but somehow enough adrenaline kicked in and I was able to finish the race. Collapsed as soon as I crossed the finish line though haha

Hmmm... torn right ACL through mountain biking, fractured left wrist from cycling, chronic inflammation of the left sole from dancing, strained quad from cycling, strained gastrocnemus from swimming, blew out my right knee lifting.... the list goes on and on

Damn Red Vespa. Army really screwed you up.

I got the 10% rating for my knee. Airborne school jacked my knees up pretty bad. IlioTibialband Friction Syndrom (most painful injury ever), tendinitis, and bursitis so was medically dq'd after week two (finished that mandatory run in that condition).

Usual ankle sprains and wrist sprains.

Tore the ACL in the right knee after trying to do a sudden stop at full speed in a rec league basketball game. I hadn't done any sports for 3-4 years when that happened.

Tore the ACL and MCL in the left knee in basketball again about 2-3 years later just as I was getting close to being fully recovered from the first one. We were up like 10-4 (gamepoint was 12), and the other team was going on a fast break. Since the guy was taking his time I decided I could catch up and try and stop it. Pulled off an unbelievable block, but landed wrong.

I have a knee condition, does that count?
When I tried to raise my mileage to beyond 5 miles a day my knees gave out. Now I have to stick with low mileage, high intensity. Its just not the same

I've had others, but right now my worst injury was from working in studio. The exacto knife took more than a little skin on my left index finger. Which greatly interferes with my ultimate Frisbee playing.

Haha, thanks. I got a pair of crutches this morning to take the pressure off it when I walk. The doctor reckons I should be OK in a week or so.

Wow, my one sport injury pales in comparison to some of you guys! I suppose that comes from a life that has mostly been inactive.
