i just read some disappointing news. My fav superhero is going to be portrayed using..Ryan Reynolds..Further more the Green Lantern i grew up seeing and reading about was African American. Why couldn't Hollywood just stick to that image? To even make the role for a female would be better than giving it to mr Reynolds. As the current Green lantern has been black since 1971 and hes portrayed as black on the current Justice League on cartoon network. If your going to make a movie focusing on a hero millions of kids in this era/Century know of especially one that is known to be of a specific race..you make the movie using that knowledge to target the audience. Dont make it a character that only my grandfather would relate and know about. .Im sure there are countless unknown black actors out there that could have played the role and i might say much better than Reynolds as hes not that type of actor unless its going to be a comedy. Hes a comedian. Also by reading his response to a question i could tell he did not know a thing about Green Lantern. And yes he was shitty in Xmen. Just eye candy....If they could find an unknown actor for superman..why not go the same route for Green Lantern? It would def make the role more interesting to see a new ethnic face getting into the lime light...As a matter of fact there are a few black actors that could play the role.
