Do you have a 'song' ? (I'm sure this thread has been done before, so forgive me if it has)

I've always thought of the song below as 'my song' as it epitomized how I felt for months up until the night I walked into the bar when I really, really didn't want to go but a friend who had DUI just HAD to go, and there he was...THE guy. The guy I have spent the last 9 years falling in love with!
So guys...don't give up. Lighten up a little, though......we can all smell desperation a mile a way. LOL

I know it's uber-gay but I think it's the shit and it reminds me of my youth and claiming my independence.

I ended a few bad friendships and some other things. You think you know people when you actually don't. There are some snaky people out there and I hope I don't run into those types again.

But I love what she says in her lyrics below

"I took a vow that from now on I'm gonna be my own best friend"

"I know that i will never disappoint myself"

This is my favorite song also. "all eyes on me I took the night!" ahahaha. It usually plays in my head when I think people need to get over themselves lol

Despite Workshy's permanent residency in my playlist since 'discovering' them in 1989, I'm just wrapped in the splendour of their music even more since its female vocalist just added me recently as a friend on Facebook, who would've thought 20 years ago that this connection would even be possible...

...I don't mind this topic repeated to death. x

The video is so-so but I just love the song. This is my general attitude.

My attitude at the moment is this though:

    and

Yes even now with all the happiness and stability I have created for myself, that little sad teen is still there. His taste in music has led me to continue to identify with such songs.

    One More Colour

    "is it lasting?"
    and in asking
    the sphere becomes a line
    a dotted line
    and to follow it
you must make a jump each time

    a dotted page
    a dotted hillside
    a blast of dots
    a blind reader
    a flock of sheep
    a blast of trumpet shots

here - all we have here is sky
all the sky is is blue
all that blue is is one more colour now

    a basket of apples
    by the back door
    beneath the sweater pegs
    the autumn leaves
    lift along the street
    a pair of dancing legs

    same as the vendor
    who likes to sing
    as loudly as he can
    and all he says is
    it suits me fine
    that's the way I am

here - all we have here ...

I've seen this THING you won't believe
why it's big - bigger than the biggest trees
    high as the mountains
    wide as the widest skies
    (and that's both sides)
well - at least as big as me

    speak a little softer
    work a little harder
    shoot less with more care
    sing a little sweeter
    and love a little longer
and soon you will be there

here - all we have here is sky
all the sky is is blue
all that blue is is one more colour now

    these are some reasons
    and same as the seasons
they hold and then they fly
    the goatless ledge
    'neath the honkless geese
    in the speckless sky
    the speckless sky
    I hear you
    I hear you
    I hear you

Currently, the song "Halo" by Beyonce┬┤ has significance to me. Every time it comes on it tugs at my heart a bit.
