How legit is this job opportunity? If you have a good feeling go for it... finding a job is so hard right now. Unfortunately I know nothing about the area... which is ironic becaue I lived in Florida for 5 years. I lived about 8 hours from Mel and never made my way there. It is really hot I am sure (I know how much that helps haha).

Our Melbourne was founded by refugees from your Melbourne. Apparently they were run out of town for pronouncing the city's name wrong.

It's cool little beach town but not much going nightlife nor gay scene. Close enough to Orlando to have fun on weekends though. Good Greek food icon_smile.gif

not hearing voices are we? as I didn't hear a thing!

You mustn't of spent much time with many Americans, because I've heard a number of em, saying just like a local.

I always wondered about that. I lived in Sydney for a year for a study abroad program in college. We would pronounce it "Mel-born" and were always told we were supposed to pronounce it "Mel-bun".

But doesn't that just make us sound stupid when we say "Mel-bun"? I mean, the only reason you say it that way is b/c you have Australian accents and that's the way it comes out! lol. If we, with our American accents say "Mel-bun", doesn't that just sound dumb to you all? Like we're faking an Australian accent for just one word?

I grew up in Florida but really have never spent any major amount of time in Melbourne. It is a small beach town like many beach towns in Florida. So the scene there is that of many beach towns. For a larger scene you will need a place like Orlando ( which another poster mentioned). The drive between Melbourne and Orlando is not bad. I know several people who have done it without issue for weekend excursions and nightlife activities.
