I have started training for the Columbus Marathon in mid-October, with a MIT group called "Rabbits and Snails".
I have run and completed 1 marathon....last September, the Akron Marathon. and I run several 5K and 10K races through the year.... I have been running about 3x a week on a treadmill and outside...
The training group is teaching a "new method" of walking and running that I have never heard of. It is supposed to be biomechanically better and more efficient. It apparently has a "proven ability" to lessen injury and even lowers your overall energy output and reduces the pounding on the joints, etc. It is called "CHI-WALKING and/or CHI-RUNNING", is anyone familiar with this technique? Does anyone use it? Or is this just a new way to market walking/running and Tai Chi? Just curious about the value of a "new technique" vs my more "traditional" training methods.....icon_cool.gif
