And then one night my mum asked me if I have a boyfriend...

...I giggled, then she giggled. We were both giggling non-stop until we were just tired enough to go to sleep! (See also related thread: http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/588649/)
This took place during my recent vagaytion in the Philippines, getting reunited with my mum after 8 years since arriving here in Dubai pre-9/11. I officially came out to her on my birthday 5 years ago over an angry sms exchange. Anyway... it just felt fabulous!!
All those perceived mysery and so-called loneliness of being single just vanished into thin air. FUCK 'THE ONE' FOR MAKING ME WASTE MY TIME! No one deserves our love more than our M0MS. icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_cool.gif

Haha. Good for you. I am being considerate of my little brother and waiting to tell my parents that I'm gay.*

    * considerate of my brother, meaning, that seeing as my mother tends to be immature ... and constantly compares my brother and I while I am away at school ... that it would be best if I were to wait until my brother goes off to college and doesn't have to ' live up to my gayness. ' lmao.

It doesn't bother me to wait. But, I wonder what her face is going to look like next time she tries to set me up with one of her girlfriend's daughters ... icon_eek.gif

Dude its quite noble. I suggest you just get it out of the way though. I'm not out to the entire extended family, but my whole immediate family knows. Mom, Dad, brothers, sister.

Its just so relaxing and funny seeing the way they respond to your bf.

Ach. I'm still on the part where my mom has finally given up on asking if I have a girlfriend and just stares suspiciously at every male friend I have over. icon_lol.gif

This was many years ago but my Mom actually brought it up before I said a word. She took the worry out of my having to bring it up at all. God I love her!! You are right. Moms can be awesome!

trust me when i say when you do come out the closet its like a huge block have been taken off your head......you feel more free to be you. I swear sometimes my mom forgets that im gay as she treats me the same. But also one should know the right time to come out. Make sure you have your degree first....sort of a security blanket as you say your mom is immature...thats what i did in case she wouldn't accept me -----

If she's ready to ask the question, she has prepared herself to hear the answer, dontcha think?

    Ah, the quandary.

Is it cannibalism if I decide to eat her in my human form?

Oh, I just told her none at the mo', 'cos apparently, my antics scare even the "foreigners" of this foreign dustbowl, and how I was proven wrong to think that only folks in my country found me weird. icon_lol.gif

    GREAT PICicon_smile.gif

Moms are awesome. I dont think its possible for any other person to love another; moreso, than a mother loves her child, possible for anyone to know someone inside and out more than a mother knows her child. They already know before you say a word. The things you do and say, the things you dont do and say after puberty, and in some cases, before. When they ask "the question" they already know the answer. They have been on this planet a lot longer than you and are wiser than you think. Moms have mastered observation. They are giving you a jumping off place. The best thing of all, they love you no matter what. Now call your mom and tell her you love her just for the hell of it. Dads...thats another story...blah...
