I'm pretty sure this has been a topic before, but just need some advice. I am 27 weigh about 190 - 195 (scale i think is 10 or so pounds off) 6'2. Trying to get back into working out and making my body look and feel better. I have a pain in my knee so running's out, but i have recently hiked 14 miles in one day. My question is what can i do to work on my body with only 2 five pound dumbbells and myself. Very broke and can't afford to get a gym membership or afford to go buy anything to help. I do eat right, that's how I've been able to control my weight. I just haven't been doing much of any kind of exercise and I want to get rid of this belly and maybe later gain more upper body strength (legs are my strongest part of my body). Thanks for the help.

Hey - no sensible advice, I'm afraid - but just a note to say good luck!

You can do a search on youtube for yoga, and for other body weight exercises.

Squats, lunges, tricep dips, dumbbell curls with very slow raises and negatives, push ups, pull ups, various planks for your core stabilizers, pilates.

If you can't run, you can walk briskly for 45 minutes to an hour or so.

You might be able to pick up some heavier barbells from freecycle.org - someone in your 'hood just might be getting rid of some!

Squats, lunges, pull ups, chin ups, push ups. Your body is sometimes the biggest resistance you'll ever face when working out.

Hmm depending on how bad that knee is, there's always bicycling.
