Let me first start off by saying I'm sure some will think this is dumb or not get the point.

I'd like to transform my body. I work out 5x a week (I'll break my workout down in a minute.)

Here's what I currently look like after about 5 months of solid working out.

This is what I'm shooting for...

This is my first time seriously working out. I've played soccer and hockey growing up but that was in high school. When I lost my six pack I figured it was time to try something new. This is that...

Currently my routine is as follows:
    Tuesday - 45 mins running & 150 situps
(used to be 20 mins running)
    Wednesday - 45 mins running & 150 situps
(used to be 20 mins running)
Thursday - Biceps (I use all cable weights)
    Friday - OFF
Saturday - Shoulders & Chest (I use all cable weights)
Sunday - Legs & Back (I use all cable weights)

I've been told recently that cable weights are going to get me the results but I get nervous with the other equipment because of all the guys there. I know alot of people won't understand but I'm kinda shy.

Anyway my routine for all the weights is to put as much weight I can that'll get me between 8-15 reps before I can't lift another and I do 3 sets of this.

Also I drink muscle milk (just started last week) 45 minutes before and right after my routine. I drink water during my routine.

You might want to rethink the jewelry.

THIS may be an odd response BUT i'm gonna say i have a pretty good about pics taken of the body.

    1. go tanning.

    2. after a workout slather yourself in baby oil.

    3. Have someone take a pic of you! Use a REAL digital camera. None of that phone in the bathroom mirror nonsense! It's all about illusion and lighting! AND dont forget to duplicate his angle.

The guy you posted, those he is indeed bigger that you (and myself), is tanned and covered in baby oil, both create the illusion of being far more buff than a person is.

As for your plan... try going to www.t-nation.com and finding Westside For Skinny Bastards... i think if you look up WSFSB you will also find it. The testimony on that plan is GREAT and i've even tried it. I like the workouts, just not into sticking to a rountine.

PS: Don't be shy. you pay the same amount of money to be there as they do. Just put your headphones on and go workout. Don't care about what others are thinking or saying.

I think you should ease up on yourself about sounding dumb or inviting ridicule, especially on a board called realjock, filled with gay men working to transform their bodies.

Based on the pics you've posted, your goal should be entirely within reach (especially at your age -- lord, I'd love to have the metabolism and testosterone of a 24-year-old!). If you feel self-conscious about it, you may have doubts about your ability to get there. Put those doubts aside; it's entirely doable.

First of all your in a great time in your life to make it happen for you. I would change from situps to crunches, it will give you stronger abs. Keep the cardio twice a week. and if your a little shy with the people at your gym trying going at a different time maybe when your gym is not very busy. Then use the Smith rack it's safe because you can set the stops and go heavy. Try flat bench and try to fail on the 9th rep, do three sets. Then do squats the same way. You can also stay with the cable machine if you wish. When you go to your gym keep in mind everyone at the gym is there for their own reason.
Don't worry about other people consider yourself the only one there. Strive for perfect form, and remember this is not a competition.
    Good luck

I agree. You are already showing great progress. Although Muscle Milk is not my drink of choice (it is a little sweet for me), looks like everyone's advice is right on track.

And don't worry about the guys around the equipment. Everyone is working towards their own goal. I actually prefer to go in the morning when no one is around just because I won't have to deal with inconsiderate meat heads.
