I have two kittens, Calvin and Hobbes. Their pictures are in my profile; Calvin's all black, Hobbes is a black/brown striped tabby with a white belly and paws. I figured 2 cats was below the critical threshold of "crazy cat person", but would allow them to play with each other while I'm out. Plus, they're littermates, so there was no hassle in getting them to get along.

I have miniature schnauzer named Sebastian. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the name and prefer human-sounding names for pets. He's three years old.

My only dog ever back when we actually had a yard, a female Scotch Terrier was named Cleopatra, but we usually called her Cleo icon_smile.gif

The name came because when she was little she ate her food diluted in milk but she was more clumsy than his owner (and that's saying something) so she would spill the milk all over herself... so milk baths... Cleopatra.

Aaaw... Sometimes I actually miss having a pet... sometimes.

    F Border Collie: Charlotte

    M Jack Russell: Rambo

    F Rat Terrier: Shimmer

I named Rambo and Charlotte within minutes of picking them out. The names just seemed to suit them and that still seems to be the case - especially for Rambo.

Shimmer was given to me by a client. I can't remember her original name, but after a few weeks my daughter and I decided that "Shimmer" fit the little dog that hardly ever holds still.

I work with something like 700 dogs each year and I am struck by how few names are in common use for dogs. I would say at least half of the dogs I see have one of the following names:

Jack; Harley; Mason; Max; Winston; Daisy; Chelsea; Mollie; Maggie, Toby, Tucker and Lucy.

Some of my clients ask me to pick out a puppy for them. I collect the puppy from the breeder at around eight weeks of age and then train the puppy for six or seven weeks to hand over a substantially trained 13-week old. In those cases, unless the owner already has a name in mind, we take names from the 'radio alphabet', skipping ones we don't like. The ones we use are Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, India, Juliette, Kilo, Lima, Mike, Oscar, Papa, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Victor, Yankee and Zulu. We've been lucky: so far the most puppies we've had at one time was 17 so we had just enough names! The pups' owners almost always change those names, which is no problem at all for dog, though my staff and I sometimes slip back to the name we first used for the pup!

Our dog's name is Trouble. (Look at my profile and you will see a pic of him. I picked the name Trouble well because....look at that pic! LOL!)
He is an English Foxhound. (In the background there is a picture of our Beagle named Tempus. We lost him last year at age 19. icon_cry.gif ) I named him Tempus because I collect antique clocks...."Tempus Fugits"
    Cheers,
    Keith

I grew up with miniature schnauzers and have always loved them. I took my dog to my parents' house, and then realized how tiny they really were. I've always been the opposite though. I've never liked having human sounding names for my animals. Case in point.... meet Kodie:

She's the lab/weimaraner mix that I adopted. Cody, however, is my boss. It's confusing.

There's also Bundles, my cat (I adopted him too).

I have a beagle, Bailey, he used to have all sorts of bad nicknames when he was a puppy because he was soooo terrible. One of his nicknames now is Boo.

And my cat, Kensington, his nickname is Kenny.

I tried attaching pics on here but they won't come through..pics of them in profile.

I have had many quails during the years in the past. My first quail was named " countess ". I rescued her from a hunter. I did not want her to be eaten.icon_biggrin.gif After that many quails of were named countess, some were rescued from hunters & some were domestic.

My squirrel was named " fuzzy parachute " icon_smile.gif
My custom ordered beta fish from Thailand were named like Red Dragon, Blue Dragon, Silver Dragon, etc. The colors & the shape of them were one of a kind. They had spectacularly shiny armored scalesicon_eek.gif

    Well lol...

    Oliver
    Oksana
    Boney
    Gizmo
oops. 4 of them live outside. They don't like to come inside anymore because of olivia and her children(Oswald&Daisey) So There are two sheds out side for the cats to sleep in. One of sheds only Oksana sleeps in.Well underneath. The other cats sleep underneath the other shed.
The other 5 cats live in the house. I live in a pretty big house(4 bed rooms) if you want to call that big. So,The cats that live inside are unnoticeable most of the time. Simba sleeps in the dinning room. Peanut sleeps in the Sun room(I don't know the real name of the room so,I just call it the sun room) Oswald just Hides under the beds. Daisey and Olivia just walk around and sleep wherever they feel like it.Its not that hard to take care of 9 cats. you just have to be organize and be prepared to clean alot.
